Rising Stars: Meet Shaena Kingston of Lehi

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shaena Kingston.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I broke my sternum approximately 12 years ago. It took them six months to figure out what exactly was the issue nothing I did provided any relief. A friend of mine finally suggested (Reiki) I had never heard of (Reiki) but at that point I was desperate to try anything. I got a session. It was the most relief that I had received in probably about a year and a half! I’d moved to Utah after a divorce. I was inspired to look up (Reiki) I got into a class to learn how to Perform (Reiki) the very next day and that kind of started my own healing journey with the energetic arts. Here I am four years later with a small studio in my basement with the goal of opening my own healing studio with multiple modalities in the near future.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I have definitely had some roadblocks and setbacks along the way! I was practicing in a small studio in Pleasant Grove for a time. I shared with a couple massage therapists. Life with a blended family of nine children got a little bit hectic. I had to pull out of the studio in Pleasant Grove to take care of some family matters. I didn’t give up and now have a small studio in my basement in Lehi. I am slowly building my clientele back up. I work full-time as an operations manager for Ess, where we recruit train and supply substitute teachers for the Alpine school district. My goal is to eventually have my practice be my sole source of income, and everything that I get to pour my heart into, outside of family, and Heavenly Father of course!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As an intuitive energy healer, I specialize in Reiki, which is an ancient Japanese healing technique where the practitioner uses hands-on placements of pressure points on the body to relieve an individual of pain, illness, energetic blocks, and just feeling stuck in life. It provides clarity, guidance, deep relaxation, improve, sleep, improve immunity and overall of better sense of well-being. I am a very intuitive and empathetic person. I really enjoy getting to understand where people are coming from what their history is and truly want to help people with every interaction that I have. In addition to Reiki and sound therapy I work with crystals and tuning forks, but I also have a crystal mat that is an adult sized heating pad that uses heat that activates the healing powers of 8 different crystal infused into the mat producing negative ions and heat for deep penetration and cellular regeneration into the body. Combined with a chromotherapy copper lamp That uses copper which activates and amplify the healing properties of tourmalated quartz crystal points and LED light therapy again penetrating deep within the body to help reset and balance the chakras and provide energetic healing through grounding protection and balance .

What were you like growing up?
I’d always been a little bit more of an old soul, kind of a quirky character and unapologetically me. I don’t fit inside a box! I was 10 years apart from my closest sibling which added to me growing up faster than traditional I married and started my family young. I’ve always had a deep care for those around me very crafty, very creative and very nature centered.

I remember playing with worms when I was 5 in my family‘s yard, and I would never name them until after they had passed away, but I had a full on memorial service including headstones next to our family well was a graveyard of worms. lol!
