Conversations with Amberly Lambertsen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amberly Lambertsen.

Hi Amberly, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My husband and I have both lived in Davis County for most of our lives, including our entire marriage. A few years into marriage found ourselves in a bit of a date night rut and as I would scroll social media, I saw other couples eating out and doing activities that looked like a lot of fun, but always in other areas of the state.

Rather than living with the FOMO for whatever every other county seemed to have to offer, I decided to research and find all of the fun things to do and delicious places to eat right where we live. I started Davis County Date Nights as a way to share those finds and help other couples keep their date nights fresh and fun, without feeling like they had to go far from home, while we were doing the same.

We’ve found a lot to love about Davis County and have so many things we want to do or have loved doing for date night, we’ll never run out of things to do.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Running a date night website requires you to go on dates. Our budget, schedules, and obstacles of parenting often get in the way of dates we plan to go on and share.

The global pandemic also seemed like a struggle, because so many things were closed and nobody was going out. But those obstacles have only helped me to get more creative with our date nights and share that creativity with others.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have a B.S. in Family Studies and will graduate with a Masters of Education – Family Life Education emphasis at the end of 2022.

I’m currently a provisionally certified family life educator and will receive my full certification before the end of 2022 as well. I love relationship education and getting couples excited about creating and maintaining a strong and enjoyable romantic relationship.

In addition to Davis County Dates, where I share ideas for keeping date night fresh and fun in Davis County Utah, I run a marriage website–A Prioritized Marriage, where I share education, tips, and ideas for making marriage a priority throughout every stage of life and creating a marriage that’s fun and rewarding along the way.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
We live in Farmington and love the small-town, local feel while offering great places to play and eat and explore. I don’t think there’s anything that we’ve found to like least.

We love the trails around our neighborhood and in the moutains, how close we are to Station Park, and all of the people we get to know and interact with.
