Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenni Thompson.
Hi Jenni, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I am a mom of 3 kids and 7 dogs, I was looking for something more. I got certified in yoga, barre, Pilates, and kettlebells.
I first started connecting with my artistic ability again thru modeling, it became My creative outlet as well as a way to cope with and help heal body dysmorphia, that’s caused or contributed to my anorexia. In modeling, I found Friends with common interests and a passion for creative outlets.
After living for several years in an abusive marriage, I was able to get out, and started bartending. The grief, loneliness, and isolation from my abusive marriage led me to pour myself into my art. I’ve found a passion for scrap metal art. Including lamps, and sculpting.
And a passion for painting.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I mostly work with scrap metal and repurposing.
I love the idea of taking something broken and making it beautiful.
Something that was trashed and made into something useful and functional.
I paint as well, repurposing old signs and decor.
I also model as an artist and create shoots
We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
That I only started investing in my art a year ago.
