Today we’d like to introduce you to Avery Blanco.
Hi Avery, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have always had an interest in photography. When I was younger, I would take my dad’s camera, and my friends and I would have our own photoshoots.
We would make makeshift backdrops out of pieces of paper taped together hanging from my bunk bed!
My love really grew when I was in high school on the yearbook staff. That’s when I started to think “Hey, I actually love doing this” that was almost 8 years ago now! So as they say the rest is history!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I definitely don’t think it has been a smooth journey I’m still trudging along. The hardest struggle I have which I think is common with so many other creatives in our day of age with social media is imposter syndrome.
I constantly have feelings of dread or feeling like a failure if I don’t get as many bookings as I want. I’m always second-guessing my work. I just have to take a step back and remind myself that it is a journey and it isn’t going to blow up overnight!
All the other people we compare ourselves to did not just wake up one day and say “I think I am going to be a photographer” and automatically get booked out!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a photographer, and I specialize in what I like to call “Love Photography” (engagements, bridals, weddings, elopements, etc.). I love, love!
I was the girl who always fantasied about what my wedding day would be like ever since I knew what a wedding was! I love to capture people’s raw emotions and feelings of love for their partner.
My favorite thing to surprise my clients with is a personalized GIF complied of pictures from a special moment they had during their session. It is always a big hit!
What do you think about happiness?
The moments that make me the happiest are after I send a finished gallery to a client and they are so in love with their pictures.
It not only makes me feel like I am doing my job well, but I also like to see my clients as friends, and who doesn’t like to see their friends happy!?
