Daily Inspiration: Meet Laura Frandsen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Frandsen.

Hi Laura, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Flowers By Laura was created in 2012, when our older son, needed a high school dance flower. We started with $50 and never have gone into debt until the addition of our new building in 2024. We’ve been creating and designing flowers for weddings, funerals, and everyday orders since 2015. We’ve always been learning as we go along, which we feel is a great thing, as trend change and as we can continue to grow. We’ve continued forward from there growing and adding more weddings, funerals, and every day orders in there too. We love to create one-of-a-kind arrangements, with our customers needs in mind. We started with one person, myself doing everything and now have 17 people working at varies times throughout the year. You can name your price and we can design flowers for you. We also have a wide variety of bouquet options to choose from.
We like to be personable. Stop in and enjoy visiting while we design a bouquet for you.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We started with $50 and have worked up from there. For 12 years we worked out of our basement. Had little space and sunlight. Now, we have a beautiful building next to our home that’s the size of our basement to work out of. This building opened August 2024. Learning and growing is just part of the package we believe in. I teach my designers, you are always learning in this business.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We are not a cookie cutter florist. We love variety and strive for this in each and every order we design. We’d had people want to come and work for us and some can see “it”, while other’s can’t. It’s hard to teach “it”, they just need to see “it” and then it’s a good fit. And we always need to have fun while designing. A smile means a lot and customers need to see our love through our flowers we’re designing for them.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I’m not sure what this totally means. But this is my guess. We have a website customers can order off of, they can call, or stop in our shop.
