Daily Inspiration: Meet Robert Diaz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Diaz.

Hi Robert, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Music has been in my life since I was a kid. I started hosting a children’s radio program, and I won some singing contests early on.
I first fell in love with music as a drummer, and at 16 I wrote my first song, That’s when I knew I wanted to create my own music. Over the years I played in different bands, explored various genres, and collaborated with great artists like Carlos Carreira and the legendary Armando Manzanero. In 2018 I released my first EP ‘Dame tu boca’ with Edgar Oceransky.
Right now I’m in a very exciting phase. My song ‘Alejarme de Ti’ has over 110k views on YouTube, and my channel is growing. I just finished my first full album, which is ready to release, and I’m also dropping a new single this year. Songs like ‘Alejarme de Ti’ and ‘Quiero Ser’ have been opening important doors for me.
My goal has always been to make honest, heartfelt music, songs that connect with people in their best and toughest moments. I’m really grateful to keep doing what I love, and I’m excited for everything that’s coming next.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road at all, and I think that’s what makes this journey so meaningful.
I’ve had my fair share of ups and downs. For years I was caught between chasing financial stability and corporate expectations on one side, and my deep need to create music on the other. There were times when I had to put my dreams on hold to focus on work that paid the bills, and those moments tested me. It’s hard when life pulls you away from your purpose.
But even in those situations music never left me. Every time I felt lost or burned out, I would sit down and write. I’d record a song, pour my heart into it, and suddenly remember why I started. Because this isn’t just about me. it’s about the people who message me saying ‘Alejarme de Ti’ helped them heal, or that one of my songs made them feel less alone.
That’s what keeps me going. No matter how many times the world tries to pull me into the corporate grind or financial pressure, my soul always finds its way back to music. And every time I return, I come back stronger, more grateful, and more determined.
The road hasn’t been easy, but it’s been beautiful. And I believe the best chapters are still ahead.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a singer-songwriter of mostly romantic ballads with a blend of pop and regional Mexican influences. I create heartfelt songs about love, heartbreak, healing, and personal growth, the kind of music that becomes a companion during the most important moments in people’s lives.
I’m known for songs like ‘Alejarme de Ti,’ which has already crossed 110k views on YouTube, and others like ‘Quiero Ser.’ People often tell me my music helps them process their emotions, and that’s something I cherish deeply.
What sets me apart is my honesty. I don’t chase trends, I write from real experiences. My songs come from the tension between the man who had to survive in the real world and the artist who refuses to let his soul stay quiet. That emotional truth is what connects me with my listeners. I want my music to feel like a conversation between two hearts, not just another track playing in the background.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
First of all, I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to listen to my music. Whether you’ve been following me since the beginning or you just discovered my new song, thank you. Your support means the world to me.
I also want to say to anyone out there who has a dream they’ve had to put on hold because of work, money, or life’s responsibilities… don’t let it die. The road hasn’t been easy for me either, but music has always brought me back to myself. Now, after many years, I finally have my first full album ready and a brand new single coming this year.
What I’d love most is for my songs to keep reaching people who need them. If one of my ballads helps you feel understood, helps you heal, or simply makes you smile, then I’ve done my job.
