Exploring Life & Business with Will Baxter of Will Baxter Band

Today we’d like to introduce you to Will Baxter. Them and their team share their story with us below:

The Will Baxter Band started almost ten years ago. Adam Fifield, organ and bass, met Will Baxter, guitar and vocals, at a local blues jam. They soon added drummer Wachira Waigwa-Stone and formed SLC’s hottest new organ trio.

They mixed honest songwriting with soulful playing and created a sound that started to build momentum in the city.
Adding bassist Greg Shaw, trumpeter Gus Bogdanow, and saxophonist Mason Peterson, has made the band a true powerhouse.

Having just released their sixth album, you can find them every night of the week at some of Utah’s finest establishments, and on tour in a city near you.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We like to look at struggles as opportunities.

There have been many challenges and opportunities along the way. But we’re so grateful to be able to play music! To share it is a gift that we take very seriously. To walk this road is a privilege, and we love it. – Adam Fifield (Organ).

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Will Baxter Band?
We are a Soul and Americana band from Salt Lake City.

We play funk, blues, country, and R&B music. We have a strong intentional message of love and community. Our honest songwriting and exceptional musicianship make us an amazing group.

We come to heal the people. To make you dance and sing, laugh and cry. We bring people together through music! -Gus Bogdanow (Trumpet).

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
People of integrity! People who know how truly powerful music can be, and how powerful you can be. People of rights words, thoughts, and deeds.

And we all love each other! We’re doing something we love, with people we love. That’s a success. – Greg Shaw (Bass).
