Today we’d like to introduce you to Boyd Petersen.
Hi Boyd, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always been interested in technology and science. I have worked in many fields, with many of them involving sales. In 1998, my wife and I bought a community newspaper. It had a circulation of 14k. We built it, and within 6 years, we had 12 newspapers. Our circulation when we sold them in 2014 was 315K.
In 2006, I saw that newspapers were going to start losing advertisers to digital marketing. I started a digital agency within the newspaper group. I wanted to say, “I can help you with that,” when people would say they wanted to try out digital marketing.
When we sold the newspapers in 2014, we had 14 newspapers covering the Salt Lake Valley and the ski & snowboard industry in Utah.
I kept the digital agency when we sold the newspapers and have built it up since then. We have worked with clients from Australia, England, Ireland, Italy, and Canada, besides most of our clients who are here in the US.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We work with providers of our services in several parts of the US. We used to use overseas providers, but had many problems. We have moved from providing everything in the digital world to specializing. We help businesses with their websites, SEO, social media, and new content-driven online magazines. We teach people how to do their own marketing and then assist when they get too busy.
Our new HomeLivingUtah.com site is really taking off. It should be to about 10k visitors per month by the end of the year. It is low-cost for businesses but yields a high return for them. We also have professionally written articles about
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I loved electronics and computers (as they were developing). I was the tech nerd in school and took classes in electronics, physics, and, when they finally offered it, computer programming ( was the first student at Bingham High to work on a district computer with a student from all the other high schools).
I also loved working with people and helping them find what they wanted. Sales came easily, and I loved the satisfaction that came from helping people.
