Inspiring Conversations with Cynthia Wand of Living The Heartlife

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cynthia Wand.

Hi Cynthia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
When I was 23 years old, I entered the beauty industry as a hairdresser and makeup artist. I attracted into my life a fabulous opportunity to learn the trade though an apprenticeship with a gentleman from Europe. Once licensed, my clientele was already built because of being this gentlemen’s assistant during my 1-year apprenticeship.

I LOVED my profession, and it evolved to my husband also getting into the industry as well. We both experienced many fun and adventuresome opportunities with being in that field, side by side for over 20 years! We were very excellent at what we did, and it was usually a 6-week wait to get on either of our schedules. We definitely excelled in that profession both individually and as a husband-and-wife team.

We did hair shows, private parties, and weddings, and even grew an “on location” business in Seattle, Washington, where we had a fully booked schedule of private clients and groups, Monday through Friday of going to our client’s homes and offering an in-house full-service salon.

I mention this phase of our work-life together because this experience is what I feel drew my husband and I closer together and gave us a very hands-on opportunity to observe interactive relationships within partnerships, families, and friends.

To be in this intimate setting of our client’s homes and see how they relate and speak to their children, husbands, and even animals gave us a very private peek into the unhealthy patterns that typically show up in relationships.

Even more so than a therapist might ever get to see, we, as “just the hairdressers,” we got a glimpse into some very toxic patterns and behaviors that were causing our clients a lot of suffering and unhealthy lives. We also got to witness what was healthy and thriving.

At this same time of building our hair career in Seattle, it was also a phase of our lives where we had our first introduction to a more spiritual approach to life, and it really inspired us to embrace our own inner, personal work and healing.

From there, we had a long 10-year journey of personal development work and growth before we had our children, which I feel really prepared us for the work I am doing today.

It provided us with such a great foundation to be the kind of partners we wanted to be and the kind of parents we wanted to be in raising a family.

At about the time of beginning our family, in our late 30s, we attended a parenting conference in Sedona, Arizona and discovered a project called The Virtues Project. We were very inspired by the holistic parenting education that it offered and a few weeks later I was invited to go through their course to become an internationally trained facilitator for the project and lead their courses professionally.

This is what eventually moved me away from my hair career to becoming a life coach and supporting individuals and families to grow, thrive, and heal.

Over the years, our work with The Virtues Project International inspired and birthed our own body of work and our own book, “Living the HeartLife, Letting Go of the Har Life,” which is based on the 5 foundational principles I use today in my life coaching practice and is at the core of what I teach and how I support my clients.

I now have a full, transformational life coaching practice, locally and online, supporting individuals and families in healthier communication, setting clear boundaries, and developing authentic self-confidence to support them in living a heart-centered, high vibrational, and empowered life!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been a very slow, gradual, and organic process, growing step by step, along with navigating many other life circumstances along the way.

I feel the consciousness of humanity has shifted greatly since I began this work, which has

supported the growth and success of my business, particularly over the last couple of years.

More and more people see the benefits and are aligning with my message, and have the desire to grow and thrive in their lives.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am a professional, transformational life coach specializing in guiding people to create and live more balanced and empowered spiritual lives. I do this through supporting them in cultivating their authentic self-confidence and self-love, strengthening their relationship with themselves first and foremost.

What sets me apart is I am the real, authentic deal. I walk my talk, and I live what I teach.

I also create a safe, sacred, and honoring space with a loving and open heart for people to grow. I am a caring and trustworthy accountability partner, and I am a strong “stand” for their personal wins and growth! I will nudge them out of their comfort zones, just enough to create a new momentum of transformation. Or, if they are ready for more of a nudge, we take a deep dive into work.

What I want your readers to know about my brand, offerings, and services, is that my life coaching is heart-centered, spiritually based, high vibrational, transformational work. What does that mean? Together with my client, we get to the heart of where they have gotten stuck in their lives and begin to transmute what has not been working in their lives. Over time, with awareness and acknowledgment of this, they begin to replace their dis-empowering habits and patterns that they have let run their life with the practice and discipline of new habits and patterns that assist them in creating a life they love to live and feel enthusiastic and empowered to do so.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Since Covid, and the spiritual evolution of humanity, I feel the industry will only expand. I think more and more people are committed to creating a stronger, deeper relationship with themselves and creating a healthier work/life balance.

I feel people are tired of the rat race, the stress of the competitive lifestyle at huge costs to people’s health and relationships, and they are ready to design a life that is more sustainable, grounded, and supportive for thriving, no matter what is happening with the world conditions and circumstances around us.

The world is ready for a new level of healing, more than ever before, and people are craving a heart-centered approach to life, relationships, connection, and self-love
