Life & Work with Yulia Lang of Saratoga Springs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yulia Lang.

Yulia Lang

Hi Yulia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My Ongoing Journey: Building a Career I’m Proud Of My journey hasn’t been easy, and I’m far from feeling like I’ve reached the top. But I’ve come a long way, and I’m proud of every step it took to get here.
When I started in Ukraine, I was a single mom with barely enough money to buy basic materials. Slowly, 1 found my passion in lashes and eventually began teaching others. But when I moved to the U.S., it felt like starting over from zero. Navigating a completely different system was overwhelming, and I had to prove my education and experience all over again.
I was one of the first to participate in a new program for immigrants to validate their foreign credentials, which even led to me being invited to sign the program alongside the governor. But while that was an incredible moment, it didn’t erase the struggles.
The first six months here were some of the hardest. I couldn’t find clients, and the industry had completely changed since I started over 10 years ago. Back then, social media wasn’t everything-word of mouth was enough. Now, I had to learn how to create content, film videos, edit, manage lighting, and understand algorithms, all while mastering my craft. It felt impossible at times.
But I didn’t give up. Now, my schedule is full, and I’m doing what I love again. I’m proud of how far l’ve come, but I also know there’s so much more I want to achieve.
If you’re facing struggles, I hope my story reminds you that it’s okay to take it step by step. Success isn’t a single moment-it’s a journey. Keep going, keep learning, and know that your hard work will pay off, just like mine has so far.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey began with three years of studying to become a hair stylist. During that time, I competed in and won first place in a formal hairstyle competition, which was a proud moment for me. However, I quickly realized that working as a hairstylist wasn’t the right fit for me. I decided to explore other paths and trained in nail and eyelash extensions, building a steady career in both fields.

After some time, I developed an allergy to nail materials, which forced me to stop working in that area. Surprisingly, I wasn’t too upset because, deep down, I had always been most passionate about eyelash extensions. This experience pushed me to focus entirely on my true passion, and it has made all the difference in my career and life.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
For me, aesthetics are everything. I approach each eyelash extension as a unique work of art, carefully crafting a design that is tailored to the individual. Every person has their own beauty, and I believe that my role is to enhance and complement it in a way that feels both natural and striking.

My work is not just about applying extensions—it’s about understanding the personality, features, and preferences of each client and creating a custom design that brings out their best. Whether it’s achieving a soft, elegant look or something bold and dramatic, I take pride in ensuring that every set I create feels special and one-of-a-kind.

What sets me apart is my attention to detail and my passion for making people feel confident and beautiful. I believe that lashes are not just an accessory—they’re an extension of a person’s self-expression, and I strive to make every set a perfect fit for my clients.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I find inspiration and guidance in a variety of resources that help me stay motivated and continue learning. One of my favorite apps is Instagram, where I follow talented artists and professionals in the beauty industry. Their work inspires me to improve my skills and stay up to date with trends. I also love using Canva for creating visually appealing content that helps me connect with my clients and showcase my work.
