Meet Kelsey Campbell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelsey Campbell.

Hi Kelsey, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born to be a hairstylist. I remember being very young, probably 3 or 4, my grandma kept a box of hair things (clips, combs, etc.) in a cupboard at her house. The moment I would arrive I would go straight to the cupboard and grab the box.

She would sit down and let me play with her hair for what felt like hours. Growing up I was always doing my sister’s hair (she hated it), my friend’s hair, and my own. I enrolled in the DATC cosmetology program my senior year in high school.

I spent a year there and then finished out my hours at Stacey’s Hands of Champions Beauty school. I graduated in 2009 and have been behind the chair since.

I have been in 4 different salons around the Davis and Weber area and I am opening my own studio salon, High Vibe Hair Co. April 2022.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
There are definitely struggles in any self-employed business. I have had my fair share of road bumps, but mostly it’s been a very smooth and rewarding career. In the long run, looking back, everything happens the way it does for a reason.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in extensions and color corrections. I am educated and certified in 5+ extension methods. I love helping people feel great and look their best by giving them the hair they’ve always wanted.

At High Vibe Hair Co, I try and create a very magical experience with every client by having an awesome space where clients can come and relax and let go of whatever blocks and stresses they may have. I want my clients to leave feeling their best and energetically reset. I use crystal-infused hair products and offer energy clearing or oracle readings during each appointment.

There is something so rewarding about seeing my clients smile at themselves when I turn them around to see the final result. I melt when I get texts expressing how much they love their hair and how much better they feel.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success to me is waking up and loving your job. Enjoying what you spend the majority of your time doing and enjoying who is there with you.
