Rising Stars: Meet Kylie Hunt of Enterprise, Ut

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kylie Hunt.

Hi Kylie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always loved taking photos. Back when Instagram was still pretty new to everyone, I started posting the pictures I took of friends, nephews and cousins with the new Canon DSLR my parents got me for my 15th birthday. It slowly started into a business when I purchased backdrops for kids to sit in front of for Christmas cards. From there, my business has been strictly word of mouth and Instagram being my only form of advertising. I’ve taken photos for pageants, business headshots, family sessions and reunions, dances, marathons, babies, seniors, construction companies, and more. I love taking portraits and it has really taken off. I learn something new every time I pick up the camera and my progress has shown.
I first mentored a professional photographer my senior year of high school while being the yearbook editor, luckily for me, I’ve been blessed to make money from my passion!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Learning the ropes of different camera bodies and lenses has been challenging. Meeting different clients criteria and expectations has also been difficult at times.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in portraits. I’ve taken photos the last six years for Miss Southern Utah. I’ve also taken photos of David Kushner (singer/songwriter)
I’m most proud of finding my own style and getting clients because they like my original ideas of styling and posing.

What does success mean to you?
When I’m proud of what I’ve done, I know I’ve made it because I’m very hard to please
