Today we’d like to introduce you to Yasmine Jordan
Yasmine, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started exploring multiple mediums early in my life. I have always been a creative and passionate artist and individual, finding joy in pushing creative boundaries from portraits, murals, book illustrations and more! Although I loved working was graphite, I grew to love acrylic paint. Which in turn allowed me to create live paintings in venues and showcase my art in businesses and homes across the world and now a historical concert hall. A true core memory was working alongside visual artists Charles Bibbs in my youth which deepened my understanding of artistry and creativity.
One of the most rewarding milestones in my career was being commissioned by the Sphinx Organization to showcase my work at Carnegie Hall in New York in October of 2024, where 300 copies of my original artwork were distributed to donors of the non profit organization. Moments like that remind me of the power of art to connect and inspire.
Today, my focus is on creating art that tells stories, builds community, and inspires self-expression. Whether teaching young children or collaborating on community projects, I’m driven by the belief that art is a bridge to something greater.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey to become a full time artist is rarely without its challenges. From creative blocks to the pressures of balancing passion with financial stability, the path can feel isolating at times. From my experience and wisdom: You have to be resilient and trust in a higher power.
Having a strong support system can make all the difference. Whether it’s friends, family, mentors, or a creative community, these connections provide encouragement, perspective, and stability. They help smooth out the edges, offering a reminder that the artist’s journey, while personal, is never walked alone. I’ve embraced a mantra for myself which is “trust the process” and keep your head to the sky! Having intuition and understanding your vision is truly a gift from God! Don’t forget that!
To my fiancée Marcus Jones – Thank you for your amazing support and love! To have a best friend and life partner in one is truly something special!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My work as an artist spans multiple mediums, but at its core, it’s about storytelling and connection. I specialize in creating pieces that evoke emotion and inspire reflection, often drawing from themes of culture, community, and resilience. My art has been showcased in spaces like Carnegie Hall, where I was honored to have my work commissioned by the Sphinx Organization based out of Detroit.
What sets me apart is my ability to blend technical skill with personal meaning, creating work that resonates on a deeper level. For me, art isn’t just about what you see—it’s about what you feel and the connections it sparks. Visual storytelling is the goal behind creating for me, we all have a story.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I’m creative in every sense of the word—whether it’s live paintings, singing, photography, videography, dancing, mixologist or cooking. I love finding new ways to express myself! I’m also incredibly proud of raising two amazing kids who have grown into incredible adults. Creativity and love have always been at the heart of everything I do.
I’m excited to bring more creativity, ideas and personal projects into 2025! Thanks for the feature!
