Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Torkildson
Hi Adam, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My dad was a circus clown when I was growing up. Which meant alot of moving around, and being homeschooled. Along with all the other things that come along with being a circus family. I had a really hard time making friends as a result, but had an intense desire to be independent and educated. I served a 2 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, then moved to Utah and attended UVU. I met my wife there, and after nearly 20 years of marriage and 2 kids later, we’re still living and working in American Fork where my wife has a therapy practice and I dabble with investing and volunteer as a business mentor and youth athletics coach.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Some of my biggest struggles have to do with mindset. Most of the time, I have a really deep seated belief that what I’m doing for my business, family, and community are correct and working really well. Occassionally, I’ll have doubts jump up that nearly paralyze me with fear and anxiety about the future. This is a well known cycle to me at this point, but it doesn’t make the anxiety stage any less real and poignant.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Tork Media?
Tork Media is a network of news websites owned and operated by our team of writers, editors, webmasters and ad managers. We work mainly with marketing and advertising agencies to publish articles, infographics, images, videos and any media that can be embedded in a website on behalf of their clients. This is likely one of the largest privately owned general news networks online today in terms of how many different websites we own and operate. There are over 240 niche vertical sites. We allow our marketing agency clients to login to many of our sites and publish their content with very quick, 24 hour turnaround. Sometimes faster.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Going to my grandparent’s home in North Dakota. That’s where my mom’s side of the family is all from, so I spent alot of summers playing with cousins on the farm where my ancestors homesteaded in the early 1800s.
