Today we’d like to introduce you to Kate Swain
Kate, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In the spring of 2023 I had an abrupt, devastating change in my life that forced me to re-evaluate everything.
I look back on that change now with gratitude because it’s what gave me the courage to kickstart a new adventure.
I realized I had become complacent and much too comfortable with how I envisioned my future, my relationships and my career.
I was unhappy.
I wanted to work for myself, I wanted to be in control of my schedule, and more importantly, I wanted to practice medicine in a way I knew would benefit the animals.
Within 10 weeks of leaving my role as a medical director I had started my own business. Mobile Veterinary Options was born in August of 2023.
Most clinics these days are corporate owned and I knew that was not my gig.
I had previously worked for two privately owned practices that sold to corporate owners, and the new ownership did not mirror my values as a veterinarian.
Mobile Veterinary options is a 2 woman mobile clinic that offers at home visits for dogs, cats and horses.
We do everything from yearly wellness exams, vaccines, surgeries and dentals.
A lot of our clientele have pets that have anxieties or physical restrictions that make it difficult for them to get in to a brick and mortar facility.
Wait times for owners to see veterinarians are ever increasing and the corporate takeovers are adding to the financial constraints.
My technician Stacie and I love what we do and are hoping to change the way owners view the veterinary medicine profession and experience.
