Life & Work with Ben Fogg of Heber City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ben Fogg.

Ben Fogg

Hi Ben, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Born from the collective vision of three traditionally trained healthcare professionals – Meredith Salmon (RN-BSN, CMO), Bryant Salmon (PA-C, CEO), and Ben Fogg (MD, COO) – WOW Clinic stands as a testament to the belief that healthcare can and should be different. Frustrated by the limitations of the current healthcare system and inspired by the possibilities of integrating underutilized therapies, our founders embarked on this extraordinary venture to bring a fresh take on health, performance, and wellness to the Wasatch Back. At WOW, we believe in empowering you to achieve your best self. Through evidence-based therapies, advanced testing, and a personalized touch, we’ll help you reach optimal health, peak performance, and holistic wellness. We’re bridging the gap between traditional medicine and holistic healing, harnessing both time-tested and cutting-edge approaches.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Leaving the Security of Corporate Medicine: Transitioning from a stable corporate medical career with guaranteed salary and benefits was a significant challenge. This required stepping away from a predictable income, health insurance, and other job-associated perks.

Financial and Time Investment: Establishing the WOW Clinic demanded a substantial leap of faith, involving considerable investment of both personal time and financial resources to bring the vision to life.

One of the significant obstacles in opening WOW Clinic has been raising awareness about the value and importance of evidence-based therapies and modalities not recognized by traditional medical systems or covered by insurance companies. Educating individuals about the benefits of these innovative approaches required overcoming deeply ingrained beliefs about healthcare. Many people equate quality care with what their insurance covers, making it challenging for them to consider or invest in therapies outside this framework.

Additionally, these modalities often require a mindset shift. They are proactive and preventive rather than reactive, which can be unfamiliar to individuals used to conventional, symptom-driven medical approaches. Without prior exposure, it can be difficult for people to appreciate the potential benefits of such treatments, especially when they are not part of their routine healthcare experience.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Dr. Ben Fogg is the driving force behind the WOW Clinic’s innovative approach to healthcare, where cutting-edge research meets compassionate, evidence-based care. With a Master’s in bioengineering and a medical degree from the University of Utah, Dr. Fogg is passionate about bridging the gap between scientific discoveries and real-world patient care. His extensive research background, particularly in genetics, sports performance, injuries, and minimally invasive treatments, gives him a unique perspective on the science of healing.
But Dr. Fogg’s expertise extends beyond the lab and clinic. An avid fitness enthusiast and outdoor adventurer, he understands firsthand the vital role of physical activity and nature in optimizing health and wellness.
A champion of the “bench to bedside” approach, Dr. Fogg is dedicated to translating research into tangible benefits for patients. At the Wasatch Optimal Wellness Clinic, he’s excited to offer evidence-based alternative therapies that complement conventional medicine, recognizing the importance of a holistic approach to healthcare.
With a passion for preventive medicine, Dr. Fogg believes in proactive, not reactive, healthcare. His experience as a primary care physician and hospitalist has shown him the limitations of traditional medicine and the urgent need for alternative modalities. This firsthand knowledge fuels his commitment to integrating holistic practices, lifestyle interventions, and innovative technologies into patient care.

Bryant’s career is a testament to his passion for both medicine and business. A Physician Assistant with a natural entrepreneurial spirit, he seamlessly blends his medical expertise with a drive for innovation, leading him to his role as CEO of the WOW Clinic.
A proud Utah Ute and current MBC student at the University of Utah, Bryant is committed to continuous growth and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. Alongside his wife and business partner, Meredith Salmon, they form a dynamic duo, leveraging their unique strengths to create a powerful synergy.
Bryant’s leadership style is both inspiring and results-driven. He has a knack for motivating his team and maintaining focus, effortlessly balancing big-picture vision with meticulous attention to detail.
After nearly a decade in orthopedic surgery and five years in urgent care, Bryant felt a pull towards entrepreneurship. He sought the freedom to make independent decisions and create lasting change, a desire that led him to forge his own path.
This passion for autonomy and innovation fuels Bryant’s unwavering commitment to excellence, driving the WOW Clinic to new heights of success and impact in the world of holistic health and wellness.

Meredith’s passion for wellness is contagious. With her quick wit and creative spirit, she brings a refreshing energy to the healthcare field.
Known for her warm personality and ability to put anyone at ease, Meredith’s infectious laughter creates an atmosphere of comfort and hope. She’s always ready with a listening ear or a well-timed joke, making everyone feel heard and understood.
But don’t let her lightheartedness fool you – Meredith is a dedicated professional with a drive to stay at the forefront of wellness. She’s constantly exploring the latest health trends and collaborating with top experts in supplementation, ensuring she has the most cutting-edge knowledge to share.
Her personal journey into alternative therapies began with a quest for her child’s health. When traditional medicine wasn’t enough, she discovered the transformative power of holistic approaches, including HBOT and supplementation recommended by Dr. Daniel Amen. This experience ignited her passion to create a space where others can benefit from these life-changing modalities.
Whether you’re seeking a good laugh, expert advice, or a dose of inspiration, Meredith is here to guide you on your wellness journey – with a smile, a supplement recommendation, and maybe even a witty remark or two.
