Meet Sarah England of DinnerTime Meals

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah England.

Sarah England

Hi Sarah, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My buisness really started as a thought one day. As a mom to 11 kids I understood first hand how hard it is to get dinner on the table. But I also saw the value of gathering around a dinner table as a family and the many benefits that come because of that. Due to our busy schedules these days, i felt like the gathering around the table was not happening like it use to. I wanted to help. I enjoyed cooking and had the thought that maybe if I could help prepare meals for families, it would free up some time from the moms day that she could spend that time with her family and make gathering around the table a little more doable. I talked to a few friends that used meal prep services like hello fresh and asked if they would be willing to try my dinners out and give me feedback, and it has just grown from there. Mainly by word of mouth. At the time I started it I thought it would be mainly busy families using my service. However one of my biggest clientele is empty nesters and the elderly. I love that we an help all stages of life eat a nutritious meal and still connect with those they love.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We have definitely had our bumps in the road. When we got into our commercial space I found out I was unexpectedly pregnant with my 11th baby. It was not an easy pregnancy but we made it thought thanks to an amazing friend and employee. She took over and ran the kitchen for me when i could not be there and she took over as head chef. However her daughter was expecting twins in Idaho. She had her twins one week after me so we both were out on maternaity leave at the same time. Luckily i had employees who stepped up to the plate and kept things running. It was challenging for them but they did great.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We provide home cooked meals that are family friendly. Our meals are made fresh each day and are picked up or delivered hot and ready to eat. Our goal is to help families gather around the table. My hope is that i will be people’s back up plan. I want to be part of their village. You know those days where you have the best of intentions to make dinner but life happens or you know your day is packed and you don’t have the time? I want to be the solution instead of the local drive thru. A meal a mom can feel good about feeding her family. I also love that we have a personal size that can be helpful for the elderly or single who cooking for themselves is challenging. It feels good knowing your aging parents are getting a hot balanced meal.

Our meals being premade seperate us from other companies. A lot of meal prep company you still have to prep and cook the meal. Ours is already done so you can spend that time with your family or filling your bucket so your better able to serve your family.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Honesty i loved the books from chip and Joanne Gaines. I love their work ethic. I hope to be a boss like they are. Other books that have helped me are: atomic habits, the compound effect, The power of positive thinking, The big leap, the miracle moring just name a few. I think one of my biggest steps forward was taking a health class from Kristen Bowen. The concepts Iearned from her gave me the confidence to take my first big steps and to keep going. She was very instrumental in me having faith in myself to move forward with my dream.
