Meet Roxanne Lewallen of Glam Aesthetics Lounge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roxanne Lewallen

Hi Roxanne, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been a registered nurse for over 20 years. I started my nursing career on an Oncology inpatient unit at Scott and White Hospital in Temple Texas. Oncology was my passion and I was extremely fortunate to have spent the first half of my nursing career caring for cancer patients who I dearly loved. I spent many long hours on my unit while also raising 3 children as a single parent.

In 2010, my world was completely shattered when my precious 7 year old son Jordan was killed in a tragic car accident. My daughter Emily was 10 years old at the time, and my son Austin was 16. It was a mother’s worst nightmare come true. The first thing I said to Jordan when I saw him laying lifeless after the accident was that I was SO SORRY. I was so sorry for not spending enough time with him. I was so sorry for choosing a career that left so little time during the week to spend with him and his siblings. I was so sorry for being too tired after work to read “just one more book”. I was so sorry for every single minute I took for granted.

After his death, I needed to change career directions so I could spend more time with my remaining children. I decided to make the heartbreaking decision to leave Oncology in 2011. It was terrifying not knowing what I was going to do but I was raised by wonderful parents who taught me the value of hard work, self discipline, and resilience even in the face of adversity which I will forever be grateful for.

I soon found my niche in aesthetic nursing which was relatively new at the time. I got married and moved to Utah in 2012 which wound up in divorce in 2015. I loved Utah so much, I stayed and planted my roots here with my daughter.

I worked for several plastic surgeons when I moved to Utah but then decided in 2018 that I would branch out on my own.
I started my aesthetics business in April 0f 2018 with what I had in my savings account. I am so blessed to say that I have such a loyal client base are the most supportive group of people I have ever known. We have a client base of over 3000 which is more than I could ever dreamed of. I have spent virtually zero marketing dollars and we are nearly 100% referral based to this day.

On January 12th of 2024, my beloved sister and only sibling suffered a massive heart dissection and needed a heart transplant within 30 days or she would die. A near perfect match for her was found on February 6, 2024 and on February 8th at 3:00 o’clock in the morning, her new heart started beating. February 8th would have been my son Jordan’s 21st birthday.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The death of a child is a mother’s worst nightmare, but what compounds that is watching your remaining children suffer without their sibling is a pain I nearly could not bear. My daughter Emily was not quite 3 years older than Jordan and we really held on to each other tightly as we navigated the darkest days of our life together.

I had to learn how to just keep going despite my grief and tried to appreciate the growth of the difficult situation I was in, believing God still had plans for my future. I reached higher, loved harder, and chose to find joy again.
