Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Anthony Simone
Hi Dr. Anthony, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I first became interested in Chiropractic at age 15, after attending an experiential training seminar where my Mom happened to work. We didn’t have much when I was growing up, and I pushed my Mom to take advantage of the “free tuition”to the seminar for 1 family member that she got as part of her payment package. After pestering her endlessly, She said I could go.
You might be thinking, “Why would a 15 year old be interested in some self help weekend?”
Well, a big reason was that the environment i grew up in was, what I call “low rent.”We never had enough money for even basic expenses. Hand me down clothes and we never short of all the joys that come with a welfare Christmas. It was a Constant struggle.
I looked around my life and realized that I didn’t want that for my life. Hell no.
I think the need to get to a place far away from where I grew up, catalyzed an intense drive to seek out my own opportunities. I knew even at 15 years old, that no one was coming to save me.
I arrived at the five day intensive self growth seminar. I experienced Fire walking, ropes courses, vision quests and sweat lodges. All with the backdrop of the stunning Arizona landscape.
We had gorgeous dinners, and I met a ton of Chiropractors, including one of the founders of the University I graduated from.
These were people who mostly, had already attained huge success, but, had enough sense to realize that continued individual growth is a never ending process, and ultimately is the first thing I believe people should start focusing on if they want success in their business.
Focusing on personal growth always improves our professional/business performance, and the reach of our impact.
At the seminar, I was inspired by the lifestyle I saw the other attendees living, especially since I grew up with very little.
I saw chiropractic as a path to firstly, stability and eventually, financial freedom.
Of course, now, I have realized that the true joy in my profession comes from the people I serve and the amazing miracles I see everyday.
After the seminar, I returned to Utah, remembering that the prettiest girl in school had a dad who was a chiropractor.
When I finally approached her, she was surprised I wasn’t interested in her, but rather just using her to get to her Dad.
That’s exactly what I did. At just 15½, I convinced Dr. Hansen to let me observe at his clinic. He checked my driver’s license and agreed, but said they couldn’t pay me until I was 16. Unknowingly, I found myself a mentor.
Dr. Hansen embodied everything that was missing at home—he was a multi-millionaire, father of six, and always impeccably put together. His way with words was magnetic, and I absorbed everything I could.
In fact, I idolized him to the point that I talked about him so much that my high school girlfriend eventually broke up with me.
From there, I worked for several high-end chiropractors while making my way to chiropractic school.
The next challenge was paying for an education that would cost over $500,000. Thankfully, the Department of Education provided loans, but I still had to work to make ends meet. After graduation and board certification, I faced the typical struggles of starting a business—learning what the heck I was doing. Since then, I’ve owned multiple clinics, navigating the ups and downs that come with it. Today, I own my chiropractic and wellness clinic on 9th and 9th in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Along the way, I dealt with several dishonest business partners who often mistook my kindness for weakness. The third and final partner is now on his way out, as he demonstrated that deception and malfeasance were all too common in our business dealings. Sometimes, you have to clean out the clowns. Every experience is a valuable lesson if you see it that way and adjust your approach accordingly.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
