Today we’d like to introduce you to Dejon Brooks
Hi Dejon, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Dejon Brooks. I am 24 years old and am originally from Atlanta Georgia. I moved to Provo Utah three years ago. I’ve always been an entrepreneur since 2016 but I got tired of working with content creators. Yeah, I was super passionate about helping content creators, go viral, but after five years of doing that, my interest started shifting towards other things. The big thing started shifting towards was attending events. I own a Instagram page that showcases upcoming events in Utah, Utah county and manage to grow it to over 100,000 views a month. This was a cool accomplishment, but every time I would go outside of the county or state, I felt like there was a whole world to explore other than just Utah county.
Because of this, I made the decision to create Planmyweekend.ai. The goal of this new business was to do the same thing as my Instagram page, but for every single city in the United States powered by AI.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Due to my experience of having an online business for the past few years, I knew how to get the ball rolling really quickly. My two major obstacles was getting a cash flow positive and training the AI to showcase real events. AI is a beautiful tool to use but when it can’t find a solution to your question it will make up stuff to satisfy you. Because of this, it has taken a lot longer to affect the algorithm to where anyone can use it anywhere throughout the country. Yes, you can log into our platform and make search his butt. We are still working on making those results high-quality.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Planmyweekend.ai helps people plan their social life and know whats going in their city. All powered by AI. One of the biggest things that set me apart from all other competition is my passion and work ethic. It is easy to start a business out of the air, but it is hard maintaining that same enthusiasm over months if not years and decades. One of my biggest strengths is my never give up attitude and my deep passion. My deep passion gives me the strength to press forward, even during the hardest times when all hope is lost. During this same time, other people tend to give up or go to the next shiny thing. I’d probably say this is the number one reason why my startup is different from the others. In addition to that, we also take advantage of AI.
A lot of travel, influencers and blogs are not taking advantage of this. They are just writing and providing travel guides by hand because putting these assets together take so long by hand they tend to focus on their particular city state or region Being able to cover multiple states or regions is very tough, which is where AI comes to place for me, AI allows me to scale the quality of content and results for my users without burning myself out.
Any big plans?
As of now, my plans are just to make and keep the platform profitable so that I may continue to grow and invest in my AI infrastructure. I ultimately would love to grow our magazine department to where my staff and I can travel the world for free.
As of now our AI platform is 100% free and will always stay that way we only charge for advertisements and our back in upsell coaching. This coaching helps people use our AI platform to make more friends find love or get more business on the go.
