Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaleigh Gillespie.
Hi Kaleigh, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
After i graduated high school in 2021 i attended a small community college in Glendive Montana. I went out there to play softball. i have always loved getting my nails done and when i moved to Glendive, the nearest nail salon was 2 hours away. so i started to do my own nails, and that soon turned into doing my teammates and friends nails. when i graduated college in 2023 i came home and attended nail school at Cameo College of Essential Beauty. I got my salon suite one week into my program. i then graduated in sept of 2023 and opened my studio in oct of 2023. it’s not been a little over a year in business!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
it’s been a pretty decent road. i think that when i was starting out and opening a business it was hard. there was a lot of doubts on how or if id even be able to do it. but i have the most supporting parents, sisters, and friends who have pushed me to just try. and i’m glad they believed in me
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
i am a nail artist who specializes in natural nail growth, and detailed nail art. i think what sets me apart is the way i care for the health of my clients nails. also that my clients feel comfortable enough with me that they can tell me if they are not liking something about their nails. the line of communication is wide open with my clients and, i also think that is what im most proud of that my clients and i are close enough that they can talk to me about anything, and that my space is safe for everyone.
Any big plans?
i would really like to be an educator, teach other people my craft and how to build confidence in their nail career. i would love to still have my clients and do nails while teaching others, have a healthy balance of both.
