Today we’d like to introduce you to Capp City
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Mopsy began in 2021 we started as a 3 piece with Capp City, George Levitre, and Conner Murray. George and I (Capp) met in high school by starting a new band for battle of the bands. We ended up playing in this band for 2 years until we graduated in 2019. During this time is when we got to know Conner, because he filled in for our bassist for one of our shows. We liked playing with him so much he was the first guy that me and George hit up to start what eventually became Mopsy. Recently, in Nov 2024, We added a second George, George Christensen. We keep track of the two Georges with nicknames “Townhouse” (George Christensen) and “Duplex” (George Levitre)
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s difficult to label anything as an obstacle or challenge when I feel like we’ve already reached our goal. We don’t necessarily have an “end goal” such as making our music our career, or being rich and famous. We already have a lot of love with where were at. We get to play shows at these great local venues and we’re writing music very actively. We’ve always been grateful to work hard on writing, practicing, and marketing our music, so I don’t think we can label hard work as a “challenge” or “obstacle”. So far just having fun and focusing on what we love to do with our project has opened a lot of doors and gained us a lot of opportunities, and we just hope that it continues to be that way.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Everyone in the band has pretty different day jobs. Capp and George Christensen both work together in an office desk type job. Conner is getting a degree in computer science and George Levitre works with a tech start up company.
