Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Ospital
Hi Adam, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey began in high school when I started 0dd Collective as part of an entrepreneurship assignment. At the time, I had no plans to pursue it further, but I quickly discovered a genuine passion for the project. Determined to take it to the next level, I explored how to produce clothing. Initially, I relied on external producers, but I was dissatisfied with the quality, so I decided to make the clothes myself. Around the same time, my love for live music grew exponentially. Attending countless shows inspired me to do more than just be in the crowd—I wanted to capture those unforgettable moments on camera. Combining my handmade clothing with my newfound passion for photography, 0dd Collective evolved into a unique brand that reflects creativity, authenticity, and a love for live experiences.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road hasn’t been smooth, but each challenge has been a learning opportunity. On the clothing side, I initially struggled with manufacturers who didn’t meet my quality standards, which pushed me to start making the items myself. Even now, I’m constantly refining my craft and learning how to mass-produce blank shirts entirely on my own. Mistakes are part of the process, but I’m committed to perfecting every detail. On the photography side, building credibility has been a hurdle. As I grow in the industry, it’s been tough to gain recognition and be taken seriously. However, I’m focused on consistently proving myself through my work, and I’m confident that persistence will pay off in the long run.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in concert photography and clothing design, with six years of experience creating unique designs for 0dd Collective. Over the years, I’ve honed my craft, continuously improving and expanding my creative output. While the clothing side has been my foundation, I’ve recently integrated concert photography into my work, aiming to master both disciplines. My ultimate goal is to go on tour with an artist, capturing their journey through my lens and potentially collaborating on creative projects. What sets me apart is my vision to create a 100% ‘mass-produced designer’ brand—even as orders grow, I plan to train associates to replicate my designs with precision, maintaining the authenticity and quality I’m known for. On the media side, I differentiate myself by not just focusing on photography but also diving into videography, graphic design, and constantly exploring new creative mediums. I’m most proud of my dedication to growth, my hands-on approach, and my commitment to building a brand that’s truly unique and authentic.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I see risk as an essential opportunity for growth. If you’re not taking risks, how can you truly evolve? In industries like clothing design and photography, being ambitious and embracing risk is crucial. Whether it’s sending that bold email, attempting a creative project that feels out of reach, or pushing the boundaries of what you think you’re capable of, risk plays a significant role in progress. I’ve taken risks by transitioning from relying on manufacturers to making my own clothing, learning new skills like photography and videography, and constantly challenging myself to innovate. These leaps of faith have not only shaped my journey but also reinforced my belief that calculated risks are the foundation of growth and success.
