Today we’d like to introduce you to John Lozano
Hi John, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Shortly after my time with the Marine Corps (early 2017), I enrolled in barber school and became hooked with modern barbering. I cut hair for a few years; soaking all the knowledge and trends I could get my shears on. But due to certian circumstances I had to take a hiatus.
I since then started a family and my career as a sales engineer. This was something I have always planned behind closed doors. My passion project if you will. Something I did for fun or “if” I ever had the oppurtunity.
That oppurtunity came shortly after we had our second child in November of 2024.
I had a little extra time on my hands because of paternity leave and my wife was behind me 100%.
I took my rainy day savings and got to work. I aquired a location quite quickly and from there immidiately began building.
With help from family and friends, we quickly put together one of Utah’s most unique barbershops.
As we currently add the final details, we are beyond excited for our March opening.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
To be completely honest, I did not expect it to go as smoothly as this did. This was also a huge part to the help and support I had through the entire process. Any hiccups I did encounter were minor and nothing to cry over. I am sure I will face my share of difficulty as all business owners do, but for now, I am extremely grateful it has gone the way it has.
As you know, we’re big fans of Sinsemilla Barber Co.. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Sinsemilla Barber Co. is Utah’s first and only barbershop permitted to sale industrial hemp products beyond hair care.
In addition to our traditional hair and body products, we offer hemp, CBD, Delta8 THC, Delta9 THC, infused hair, body, skin, and edible products.
We do not deal in any smokes or vapor as we are not a smoke shop.
We believe there is benifit in hemp cannabis for hair and self care.
Ontop of all those products, we offer amazing barbering services to include modern and traditional techniques. Including skin fades and tradional razor shaves.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My closest and biggest helpers and supporters have been my friends and family. My brother Isaac and the Camarillo family have left their own mark on the barbershop and are the reason the process had gone so smoothly.
My wonderful wife Starr has been my right hand man (woman) since I surprised her one day and said, “You are looking at the owner of Sinemilla Barber Company LLC.”
From that moment on, she stood beside me through it all and continues to be very invloved.
