Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashli Plake
Hi Ashli, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Mystic Moss Magick is my way of sharing witchy information with the community, I create magazines, candles, and other items that are for specific intentions. It’s sort of like a walking grimoire for those who don’t know where to start. I’ve gone through a lot of phases with how I want to share information like this with people, and this year I got the opportunity to rent the yoga studio and old retail store that is above Dr Christopher’s Herb Shop and Gingers Garden Cafe. Before Covid started they used to host their own yoga classes, so I’ve revamped it to be the Mystic Moss Wellness Center, and we will host sound baths, yoga, meditations, and other classes like herb talks, nutrition, acupuncture and hopefully so much more like this. It’s all related to energy and it’s just another way I want to share our witchy world with our community. Springville really doesn’t have anything like this near by so it’ll be nice for everyone to have an opportunity to learn more and be apart a community again.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Fortunately it’s been fairly smooth. It’s always been just a random hobby of mine to share info and make magazines and articles and posts for Instagram. So there is low risk involved, as far as the new wellness center the only struggle has been balancing working on the renovations with taking personal time haha
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I began working on the Earthling Emporium which is a metaphysical store a few years ago and had to really learn everything about running a business hands on. Once that relaxed I switched to being a social media manager and designer for the three companies in the building. My biggest accomplishment has to be with my personal small business though, I think anyone who has started a business should be proud of it because it’s hard! I specialize in creating a vibe for magical things and collecting information. I think what sets me apart is my nature centered and whimsical brand and talking about herbs and tools etc from the viewpoint of witchcraft and connection to their spirits for personal use. It’s a little all over the place because I’ve never had just a single thing I do or practice.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
When I was really young in 2nd or 3rd grade me and my sister used to pretend we were weather witches, and we’d make pine needle potions with some of the flowers that grew around our yard and it gave us powers to control wind and thunderstorms haha
