Hi, I’m Jennie Harwood, the proud owner of Vera Luna Co., where I specialize in body piercings and teeth whitening services. Beyond my business, I’m a devoted wife to Joe Harwood and a mother to six beautiful children.
Coming from immigrant parents, I was raised with the values of hard work, resilience, and perseverance—principles I now pass on to my own kids. I believe that no dream is too big when you’re willing to put in the effort and never give up.
Starting my own business was one of the scariest yet most rewarding decisions I’ve ever made. I had no idea what I was doing at first, but I took a leap of faith, and six years later, I couldn’t be prouder of what I’ve built. Vera Luna Co. continues to grow, and I’m committed to giving it everything I have to see where it flourishes in the years to come.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey to building this business was anything but smooth—it was a rocky road filled with fear, doubt, and countless questions. How would I find the funds? What if I failed? Most importantly, what if I let my family down? I had always loved the idea of owning my own business and setting my own schedule, but for a long time, fear always won.
If it weren’t for my husband’s support and guidance, Vera Luna Co. might have never come to life. As a business owner himself, he helped me find the courage to push past my fears and take that leap of faith. Now, six years later, I am beyond proud of what I’ve built and excited for where this journey will take me next.
Owning a business isn’t easy, but it’s one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done. To anyone scared to chase their dreams—keep pushing forward. No dream is too big when you refuse to give up.

Teeth Whitening Services
In addition to piercings and modifications, I offer professional teeth whitening services to help clients achieve a brighter, more confident smile. Using safe and effective treatments, I love helping people look and feel their best.

COVID-19 may have reinforced how important it is to build strong relationships—both personally and professionally.
Like many entrepreneurs, i had faced the fear of financial strain, and business slowdowns, but you pushed through. The experience likely reinforced that even in the hardest times, perseverance and creativity can keep a dream alive.
COVID-19 highlighted how quickly things can change. As a business owner I realized the importance of diversifying services or income sources to remain stable during tough times.
