Today we’d like to introduce you to Bradley Thompson

Hi Bradley, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
A native of Utah, Brad attended the University of Utah where he majored in Mass Communications. After many years of enjoying Park City as a second home, Brad and his family became full-time residents in 2000. Brad began his real estate career in 1987 in Park City doing fractional and resort real estate. He was recruited to California and then to Chicago before moving back to Park City in 2000. In 2004 he refocused his career to residential real estate.

Brad attributes his success to being a good listener and going the extra mile for every client. His positive attitude and ability to communicate effectively with others has carried over into his active involvement in the Park City community.

Brad and his two children, Betsi and Michael are serious students of the recreational opportunities available in Park City. His family activities include skiing, golf, hiking, biking and martial arts.
Brad also makes time to be a volunteer. Volunteer thousands of hours locally for his kids’ school, community board and foundations like the Park City Sunrise Rotary, Habitat for Humanity and was probably most notably remembered from his 10yr+ on the local NPR volunteer as a DJ “B+Rad” a nick name that still follows him around.

As one of Park City’s most active skiers, Brad has an extensive knowledge of ski accessible properties. In addition to his focus on recreational properties, Brad is active in all areas of Park City real estate. He enjoys sharing his knowledge of what the Park City lifestyle has to offer with anyone who dreams of making Park City their primary or vacation home.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Smooth sailing? At first yes I was Rookie of the Year for the State of Utah and my business took off! But then the Great Recession! I’m am actually thankful for the opportunity it gave me to learn some life lessons. The first is “ work life balance”. If it wasn’t for the recession, I probably would have worked myself to death or lost my family because of the recession. I’m actually one of the most prolific skiers in Park City. I Ski more days than anyone I know with their family and I’m proud of it..

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I’m a Utahn, born in bread. Born in Bountiful Utah, about 10min north of Salt Lake. My family came to Utah with Brigham Young back in 1847. I joke, we came through Jeremy Ranch in 1847, happy and lucky to say my clan stayed with Brigham and didn’t leave into the hills to become an FLDS.
My passion skiing and sharing these mountains with other people. I have two wonderful children that were both raised in Park City. My oldest is getting married, which is the highlight of my life. Something that I can’t wait for up here in Park City with the mountains as the backdrops and if we’re lucky the peaks will have some white dusting on them. My son studies at the university of Utah, where my daughter also graduated. My family are big Utah fans, especially football where we’ve had season football tickets since 1960 my family is also the original tailgaters of the university of Utah when we started tailgating three hours before the game people thought it was all that we would bring our own food and in the parking lot, bring lawn chairs and hang out with each other and make a picnic, how times have changed. My son is a competitive low single digit handicap golfer where I’m happy to be in the low 20s. My dad taught me to play golf and to ski and I’m ever grateful and loved every moment I shared with him. I am proud that both my kids were taught to play golf and taught to ski.
I am starting a new chapter in my life.
I am a first grade black belt in taekwondo.🥋
I have five ski seasons where I’ve skied every day. The resort has been open.
I volunteered every week on KPCW for 12 years.
I’ve been on many boards for nonprofits such as habitat, humanity, sunrise, Rotary, Coldwell Banker community foundation.

What does success mean to you?
My true definition of success is hearing my children speak of me when I’m not in the room or if they think I’m not listening . There’s nothing more important or more true barometer of measurement of my success..
