Today we’d like to introduce you to Vicente Agelvis
Hi Vicente, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Eighteen years ago, almost upon graduating from college, I discovered my true passion: photography. What began as a hobby soon became a work of love. At first, it was a personal project, but over time, my wife, Lisbeth, joined the team and became a key player in the growth of our studio. Together, we built a space where we create beautiful memories for many families.
Over the years, with effort and dedication, we have continued to develop as professional photographers. We know that in this creative world, continuous learning is key, and that has been a constant goal in our work.
Today, after 18 years, we have a family business designed especially for families, because we understand the importance of the memories we share.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting any project will always be a challenge, one that comes with difficulties such as uncertainty. The constant question is whether clients will come, whether the income will be sufficient, and the biggest fear is usually financial stability. In our case, over the years, there were four occasions when, out of fear, we sought stable jobs. However, each time, photography held us back because it always demanded more of our time. In the end, after five years, photography became our sole source of income, and we decided to dedicate ourselves fully to it, dedicating our daily effort. Looking back, I can say it was the best decision we could have made.
Starting a business is a roller coaster, full of ups and downs, but when you find what you’re truly passionate about, those difficult moments are worth it. Photography has not only given us the opportunity to grow professionally, but also to do what we love every day. In retrospect, all those moments of doubt were just necessary steps to get to this point, where financial stability and success begin to be the fruit of perseverance and commitment.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
“We began our journey in photography focusing on weddings, but over time, as our clients’ families grew, we decided to expand and prepare to capture other important moments like maternity, newborn, and family photography. Today, we continue to work in all these areas, but our studio has specialized and is more recognized for its focus on newborn and maternity photography.
What we are most proud of is that, despite our achievements, we have never felt like we are the best. We love to constantly challenge ourselves and never stay stagnant. We are not followers of patterns; we are very creative people always looking for new ways to improve. For us, continuous preparation is one of our main distinctions. Even with solid knowledge, we always seek courses and training to stay up-to-date because we understand that knowledge is never static and there is always something new to learn.
We are a couple that works 100% as a team, always pushing in the same direction, and that’s what drives us to keep growing and offering the best of ourselves in every project.”
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
Utah is a truly wonderful state, and we fell in love with it since we arrived in 2017. Its majestic mountains, which surround us, always make us feel at home. The warmth of its people is something that always stands out; the people here are friendly and characterized by their constant smiles. In my opinion, there’s nothing we don’t like about Utah. We love everything about it: its climate, its growth, and, most of all, its people.
