Today we’d like to introduce you to Madison Pinkerton.
Hi Madison, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always had a love for capturing beautiful moments and experiences, particularly in nature. A few years back, my husband gifted me a camera and lens and so began my photography endeavor. It completely changed how I capture my favorite landscapes, flora, wildlife, and all things nature. As well as encouraging myself to be more creative in my approach. I decided to start sharing my view through the lens with others and the appreciation was overwhelming, leading me to starting up a small business. It’s been so amazing to see people move my art into their homes and it continues to help push my creative eye.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Learning the ins and outs of a camera vs a phone was intimidating at first. There were some frustrating photo outcomes for a while but it got easier with time, like with most things.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Nature photography is the name of the game for Melodic Mountain Arts. Growing up in the outdoors with an even larger appreciation for it in this phase of life, it only felt natural to capture the moments that shape our life and adventures. As someone that seeks out the beauty of nature, it’s guaranteed that the photos taken come from a genuine love of the experience. The photos capture merely a glimpse of the joy and beauty that was experienced and witnessed. Every photo seen can be met with a story to share of the moment. We’re so proud to offer moments captured that people can enjoy, connect to, or remember their own experiences by.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I find that chatting with other artists in and out of the photography realm always provides great insight. It also connects the community to support each other. Additionally, just don’t be afraid of putting yourself out there. Talking to local business owners, carrying business cards, and talking about what you can provide for them leads down more roads for opportunities.
