Meet Brytan Manges of Lehi, UT

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brytan Manges.

Hi Brytan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Magical Moments Utah began from a moment of inspiration. When I was younger, my mom invited a friend to portray a princess at my little sister’s birthday party. I remember watching the kids light up with joy—it was clear that something magical was happening. With my own background in theater and a lifelong love for princesses, I realized this could be the perfect way to combine my passions for performing and creating joy for children.

In 2016, I launched Magical Moments Utah with just a few handmade costumes that my grandma and I created together. As the demand grew, I taught myself to sew and began expanding our character lineup. What started as a small dream has now grown into a company offering over 20 beloved characters, with more being added regularly. It’s been an incredible journey watching it grow and bringing magic to so many families across Utah.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I started Magical Moments Utah as a teenager with very limited resources—both financially and in terms of business experience. On top of that, I was living in a small town of about 1,200 people, so the opportunities felt pretty limited. Fortunately, my mom was incredibly supportive and allowed me full creative freedom to shape the business into what I envisioned.

When I moved to Utah County for college, things really began to pick up, and it felt like the business was gaining momentum. But then COVID hit, and like many small businesses, I was forced to pause and reflect. It was a tough time, and I seriously questioned whether I could turn this into the full-time career I had always dreamed of. For a while, that goal felt even further out of reach than it had in my tiny hometown—but I never gave up. That time really tested my commitment, and ultimately, it pushed me to work even harder to build something sustainable and magical.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Magical Moments Utah, we specialize in high-quality, character-driven entertainment for children’s parties, community events, business, and family functions. Our team of professionally trained performers bring beloved princesses, superheroes, fairies, and original characters to life through singing, storytelling, face painting, themed games, crafts, and magical one-on-one moments with kids.

We’re known for creating truly immersive, memorable experiences that go far beyond just dressing up. Our performers are carefully cast and trained not only for their performance abilities, but most of our performers have been full time nannies, nurses, teachers and even moms! This means that not only do we love the character’s we are portraying, but we love the kids we are performing to.

One of the things I’m most proud of is how much heart goes into what we do. Every costume is thoughtfully curated or handmade, many by myself or my talented performers. Our wigs are done by our cast, and our games and party activities are all created by my team and I as well.

What sets us apart is our attention to detail, our focus on character integrity, and our commitment to creating real magic—not just for the children, but for the families too. We’re not just performers—we’re memory-makers. And that’s what keeps us inspired every single day.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
That’s such a tough question—I’ve honestly never been able to pick just one favorite childhood memory. There are so many moments that have shaped who I am and led me down this creative path. If I had to sum them all up in one word, it would be creativity.

Growing up, my mom was incredibly encouraging. She gave me the space and support to explore all kinds of creative outlets—drawing, singing, painting, dancing, performing—you name it. Almost all of my favorite childhood memories revolve around those experiences. Whether it was putting on little shows in our living room or crafting at the kitchen table, those moments really planted the seeds for who I would become. I’m so grateful for that foundation and the way it continues to inspire me today.
