Hi Ryan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been an artist all my life, but started drawing digitally when I was 15. I’ve always had a passion for the creative process. Over the years, I have developed a small social media audience which has made it possible to launch my small art business, dropofcreativity. I’ve recently had chances to work with indie book authors, which has always been a dream of mine. My artwork has provided me with amazing opportunities to create and meet others in the art community.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Being an artist in an oversaturated market has been challenging. I’ve had to find creative ways to get my artwork seen, especially on social media. My big break has actually been with the rise of AI, which you would think would be the opposite for an artist. I took the opportunity to raise awareness on how AI is harmful to artists, which has helped my accounts grow. Despite some virality, it’s been a struggle overcoming negative comments and trying to come up with ways the algorithm will show my work to others.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a digital artist who specializes in character art. I have worked with book authors to create commissioned artwork of their characters. I also run a small business shop where I sell art prints, keychains, stickers, notebooks, pins, and jewelry that all contain hand drawn works of mine called ‘dropofcreativity’.
I am known for bookish fan art drawings and AI image redrawing videos online. My style consists of a semi realistic look to my characters. Every drawing is bright and colorful.
