Today we’d like to introduce you to Addi Mooney.
Hi Addi, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started making Sourdough about a year ago. I was struggling with mental health issues and sourdough weirdly enough helped me out of my funk. I was gifted some starter and went head first into everything sourdough, I’ve never looked back. I haven’t bought store bought bread in a year and don’t plan on buying any soon. I started selling my sourdough to family and friends a bout 4 months into my journey and realized how fun it was to share my food with people! So I decided I wanted to have a little micro bakery! Hopefully one day I can have a full bakery of my own! Ruby Shay Bakery has been something I’m constantly looking forward to progressing! The name comes from my husky Ruby and Shay is my middle name. Ruby my parter in crime so it was only right to name my business after her!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For the most part it’s been a pretty smooth road I think the only thing thats a little tough is consistency in orders. That comes with it though so no big deal!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I have worked in a lot of food service places and was a barista for a long time. Anything food has always attracted me I’d say if you know me you know my food whether it’s sourdough or regular everyday food.
What matters most to you?
My family matters most to me. Building a better life for my partner and family. Wanting to make sure when me and my partner start our own family we have the resources to make sure they have everything they need. Along with being able to provide whatever my parents and siblings need. Thats the dream!
