Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Timpson.
Hi Megan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Growing up I always had a love for health and fitness and what a healthy life could bring: opportunities, freedom, experiences, and impact. With that love for fitness and also a love for business I started my own personal training business after returning from my LDS mission and started an instagram page called One Percent Healthier. That name originated from a talk I heard called One Percent Better which the whole message really resonated with me because it invites us to be growth oriented, not just goal oriented and to focus on progress not perfection.
My love for health, fitness and nutrition is fueled by mindset tools because if we can change what we think and believe, we can change our actions and change our lives. Through my time as a business owner I’ve applied the principles of consistency and getting started despite imperfection to what I do day to day and to the content I share and it has really paid off in the impact I’ve been able to have on others.
Some of my favorite memories have been through coaching whether it was workout classes at F45 or hearing about client’s mindset breakthroughs on our zoom calls, I’m grateful for the impact I can make one by one.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I wouldn’t say it’s been a smooth road because the biggest obstacles you face are your own self doubt, comparison, and lack of immediate results. It’s also hard to pave your own path and do something your family or friends have never done but you do it anyway because you feel called to despite the constant worry you’re not making a difference at all.
Some struggles I had were trying to solve create solutions for problems that didn’t exist. Whether thinking I needed to create a certain type of content or creating content for whoever instead of my ideal niche. The more I got in touch with the who I wanted to help the easier it became.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
One Percent Healthier is built on the belief that small, intentional steps lead to powerful, lasting change.
We specialize in helping individuals, especially entrepreneurs and ambitious women, transform their health, mindset, and lifestyle in a way that feels sustainable, intuitive, and aligned with their real lives — not just for a season, but for a lifetime. Rather than promoting extreme diets, rigid programs, quick fixes, or unrealistic expectations, we focus on teaching clients how to create balance, build self-trust, get to the root of the struggle, and cultivate true well-being from the inside out.
What sets One Percent Healthier apart is our holistic approach:
We blend fitness, nutrition, mindset coaching, and emotional wellness, recognizing that health is multi-dimensional. Our clients aren’t just changing their habits — they’re changing their relationship with themselves, with food, and with fitness.
Brand-wise, we are most proud of the genuine transformations we witness: women stepping into their strength, rebuilding confidence, finding freedom from diet culture, and learning to trust their bodies again. I’m also proud of my podcast One Percent Healthier: a podcast for growth that furthers the mission of becoming healthier in each area of life: physical, mental, social, spiritual, emotional, and financial. I’m able to connect with other industry leaders to share inspiring conversation and tips for those wanting to improve their lives.
At its heart, One Percent Healthier is about empowerment.
We want readers to know that lasting change doesn’t come from overhauling your life overnight — it comes from committing to grow, heal, and show up for yourself one day, one choice, one percent at a time. If a reader is looking to change their health and find support on their journey they can reach out on Instagram @onepercent.healthier. They can listen and support our brand by tuning into our podcast One Percent Healthier and can learn more in my Sunday newsletter.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
For those just starting out in business or in content creation my best advice is to start now and improve later. Don’t over focus on the details, just get it out there and learn as you grow, make it pretty later. Also know, your community gets to grow with you. Ultimately, they learn from you, follow you, or buy from you because they are invested in you so don’t try and be someone you’re not and that includes being a person you once were. The more you create content that aligns with your values and the impact you want to have on the world the more you will attract the right people to your business and life.
