Meet Ban Tran of Ding tea Taylorsville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ban Tran.

Hi Ban, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My family immigrated to Utah in 1995. My parents had $400 in their pocket. My parents focused on education, I graduated in B.S Computer science. Everything was going according to plan, yet I was unhappy.. Something didn’t felt right.

I started worked as server at my friend restaurant. It was tiring yet I felt happy. I knew open a restaurant would be too much for me to handle. Boba tea was trending, I decided to open boba store. There was lot of sweat and hard work. I was lucky on the timing and lot of people help a long a way. I have many loyal and hard working employees, who I considered my family, help.

That is how I got started in business.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Lot of struggle when I built my store, construction delayed, running out of money and lot of issues with city requirements. Learning curve was steep.

As you know, we’re big fans of Ding tea Taylorsville . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We sell authentic Taiwanese Bubble Tea. We offer quality drinks at an affordable price. We focus on quality, service and great value drinks. We imported all of our supplies directly from Ding Tea Headquarters in Taiwan.

What matters most to you?
I want to create a working environment that nurtures and empowers all employees. I want all my employees feel safe to be who they are. I offer patience for my employees to reach their potential. I want to make a road they will walk on a little easier for them.

This is what I wish I have when grow up. Someone/mentor to be patience with me as I learn about myself. I didn’t have that.
