Today we’d like to introduce you to Lexi Palmer.
Lexi, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In 2019 I started making wreaths to sell to family and friends. I was in the depths of postpartum with my first child and desperately needed a creative outlet while still being home with my baby. I always enjoyed making wreaths but I knew that I still wanted to be able to do more. After having my second baby I began taking online floral designing classes. I immediately loved learning more and different techniques. In 2023 I began working as a freelancer and helping many different florists with weddings and events. I enjoyed it so much I then shifted my business from wreath designing to working as a wedding and event florist. Now a little more than 2 years later I am loving where I’m at. I am able to work with such fun and amazing couples to design beautiful florals for their special day while also being able to spend a lot of time with my children. It is the best of both worlds.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There are always bumps in the road. I always had my plans of what I wanted to do with my future schooling and career. After having my first child all of that changed. Both of my children were NICU babies and that really changed me. Dealing with the anxiety and postpartum stress I felt that I had lost a lot of who I was. Having a creative outlet has really saved me. Now my boys are growing and I am also allowing myself to grow.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a floral designer! I love designing everything from dance flowers for high schoolers to wedding and event arrangements. I am most proud of my ability to learn so many different styles and techniques.
