Nearly two years ago, what started as a side hustle in my garage quickly evolved into something much bigger than I ever imagined. At the time, I was working in sales, chasing commission checks, but feeling unfulfilled. I knew I wanted more — not just financially, but personally. I wanted to build something of my own.
Kaye Furniture didn’t have a name back then. It was just me, buying used wood furniture, sanding it down, refinishing it, and flipping it for a small profit. I wasn’t creating museum-worthy pieces, but I became obsessed with refining the process — making it faster, smoother, and more efficient. I streamlined my workflow to the point where I could turn around multiple dressers, nightstands, and other pieces in a single day. That’s where the fire started.
Soon, I transitioned into flipping upholstered furniture — mainly sectionals and sofas — and that’s when things really took off. My garage quickly filled to the brim with couches, so I expanded to three oversized storage units. Not long after, we opened the doors to our first brick-and-mortar location, proudly displaying Kaye Furniture across the storefront.
From the beginning, we’ve taken the road less traveled. Our path has been anything but conventional — and that’s by design. We’ve built this business by saying yes to ideas others wouldn’t dare try, staying lean and hands-on in every part of our operation. My wife and I personally handle deliveries, marketing, logistics — every detail that brings the Kaye Furniture experience to life.
That approach has paid off. Today, we carry some of the top names in the furniture industry and are on track to generate over $1 million in sales this upcoming year. But beyond the numbers, we’re proud to offer something different: a modern, refreshing take on furniture buying. No outrageous markups. No pushy salespeople. Just high-quality pieces at honest prices — all driven by passion, hustle, and heart.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not.
That’s the answer we heard more times than we can count.
From freezing nights in the garage with paint spilling across the concrete, to being turned down by manufacturers who said we were too young — the road to building Kaye Furniture hasn’t been easy. We started with limited tools, no delivery truck, and every dollar we made went straight back into the business. There were nights we’d drive furniture out to St. George, Idaho, and beyond — getting home at 3am with just enough energy to start all over the next day.
I launched this company at 23 years old, fueled by nothing but drive, belief, and a willingness to outwork the doubt. Even now, at 25, we still encounter skepticism — people assuming we’re too young to be taken seriously in this industry. But the truth is, every challenge has only made us sharper.
We’ve built incredible relationships along the way — with customers, partners, and mentors who’ve believed in us not for our age, but for our commitment. And through every roadblock, we’ve learned to lean into creativity and innovation to find a way forward.
The grind has been real — but so has the growth. And every difficult step has been worth it.
