Hi Shawnna, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Well, I’m from Alabama so I happen to love big trucks, farm & heavy machinery, and also my lovely self-sufficient character to be able to handle what others simply cannot. I moved out to Las Vegas, NV in 2010 because I simply wanted more for myself. Literally got in my Jeep with my dog and left in the middle of the night, I made it happen. And yes, I made great money over the decade working in the industry on the strip but it wasn’t where I was supposed to be. I decided to get back into trucking and it was just perfect. From UPS to Diligent USA, and being the Lead Owner-Operator on the main accounts & regulating 20+ drivers every day. Accounts including Rush Truck Center, Peterbilt, WorldPac, Velocity Truck Center, Freightliner, Cummins, Napa Auto, & Traction Heavy Duty. Then proceeding to take on Environmental Transportation of Nevada doing flatbed & step deck heavy haul transport on the local routes and also in the Western 11. I was happier than ever, and then unfortunately I got an infection in my chest wall which led to an open chest surgery. I had to take a step back & revamp my life. I met my soulmate who works for Conoco in the oil field while also owning his construction company. And I just love construction and heavy equipment! This then established to the creation of Compound 119 which regulates in construction, classic vehicle operations, and heavy haul transportation.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Life has never been smooth for me. And being a truck driver, them roads are never glorious along the way. My path was unleashed when I chose to be in control of my creations & my capabilities.

We offer creative construction, classic vehicle operations, & heavy equipment transport.
In the Construction division this includes compound renovation, creative remodel, roof restoration, flooring, skid steer services, dump services, landscaping, and demolition.
In the Carrier division this includes equipment transport, flatbed, heavy haul, load transport, and open/enclosed classic vehicle transport.
In the Classic Ops division this includes classic mechanics, classic restorations, classic vehicle transport, mobile classic mechanics, and classic welds.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Be nice. And smile. I’m southern so I am naturally a very nice person to all. Unless you give me a reason not to be. I have never been afraid to initiate conversations or establish collaborations. I’m very creative along with a positive attitude which ultimately connects me with some great people.
