Today we’d like to introduce you to Kalie Brackin.
Hi Kalie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was raised in Pizza Stop in Preston Idaho. My parents opened their first shop on my 1st birthday in 1993 in Florida before they moved us to Idaho.
At age 21 I pursued a career at Jimmy John’s where I was for over 9 years and I reached my ceiling as Director of Operations. I needed a new challenge. I was then Director of Operations for a Panera Bread franchisee, and helped them successfully open the first locations in Utah. I felt I was lacking a true love for my job and I reached out to my brother Collin who took over the family business. He and I built out my pizza truck in about 30 days time, and my wife and I quit our jobs to get into pizza again, what I truly love most!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I was terrified to leave a good job with benefits and vacation. Didn’t know how it was going to turn out. A few weeks in the engine in my truck completely blew up, and my nephew and brother did a full engine swap in 9 days. Fortunately we haven’t had any big issues like that since!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We make the best pizza, confirmed! Best of northern Utah 2025 among many other awards!
What was your favorite childhood memory?
I spent most of my childhood at the restaurant with my parents and siblings. I learned to ride a bike right there in front of Pizza Stop. The high school is across the street and I got to eat lunch with the high school kids daily and I thought that was pretty cool.
