Life & Work with Erin Proctor of South Jordan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Proctor.

Hi Erin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Back in 2017, as a stay at home mom, & new to Instagram, I saw accounts monetizing their platforms for everything except children’s items. I thought “hey I could do this how hard could it be with 3 boys under 6?” So I became the funny mom talking about the ugly truths about motherhood & that’s how @toddler.frat.house came about! Fast forward to 2022, where we had added a little girl & a move to Utah, the unimaginable happened. I had a massive subarachnoid hemorrhage stroke & 7 day brain bleed after a case of Covid. I quickly changed my mission from making money to advocating brain health, through organizations such as The American Heart and Stroke Association & even joining the Board of the Utah chapter (shout out 🫶). I still throw in the ups & downs of motherhood but I’ve truly found my passion outside of social media & being a professional sports chauffeur to 4. And even though I have many deficits I am grateful to be here today and find joy in educating others on heart attack & strokes, using different platforms, on what to look for & what to do in hopes that it would have an impact on just one person.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being nuerodivergent but looking “normal” on the outside is the most frustrating part of a Traumatic Brain Injury. Having to relearn everything from writing my name to walking, people rarely think of the lasting impact it can have. For me, it’s overstimulation, language issues & proper problem solving that others take for granted. Another obstacle along the way was my husband’s cancer diagnosis but with surgery & finishing his last round of chemo in late August, he is now cancer free.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
