Hi Anna, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes is the morning routine with my kids. After we wake up it usually is a hang out in bed and snuggle. Then the normal daily routine. We make the bed, open the curtains, and get ready for the day. Then we get the dog taken out. My son helps get the dogs food and water filled. The kids play and I start breakfast. It really is the slow morning that bring the peace and readiness for the day. Having the mental check list of what to do really helps.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
So I am a creative makeup artist. When my kids go down for the night that’s when I go into my office and create. Any feelings from the day good or bad are expressed in looks.
Using clay and other items to create. Using face paints and other mediums is my favorite. Also now though I’ve been sharing asmr content, fashion, skincare and lifestyle! Truly just sharing the creative side of me in everything I do.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My grandpa used to say to me “Put the beast away and show your beauty.” Which truly was something I took to heart and remember it to this day.
He really just encouraged me in everything I did and showed up. He reminded me that things are hard sometimes, but you keep showing up. Even when you don’t want to.
He told me to embrace the fun creative side of me. That if someone really cares about what you are doing that’s on them. Not you. As long as you’re not hurting anyone then be the real you.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes. In 2024 I really wanted to give everything up and stop trying. I did take a long break, refocusing on what I want to create.
When I took the time to step back and refocus I came back stronger. Really found what I love. That there’s more to me in what I create and share
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, I showcase the real me. Obviously I don’t show every detail of my life and the behind the scenes of it all. That doesn’t mean that I’m not still the real me.
I would say my friends and family can vouch me in that. Sometimes social media is just a highlight real which can be absolutely true. However for me I try to show all equal sides. Not everyday is sunshine, rainbows and happiness. Everyone has bad days and it happens to us all.
In captions , stories , or sometimes posts there’s the vulnerability shared. As well as just the genuine hope in life for the good for everyone.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
Truly I hope they talk about how creativity lives in us all. That we all have that in our body. It might be different for each person but we do. That we all have our own thoughts and ideas to grow and create this world. Just remembering to see the light and joy in everything is the biggest story I hope to leave behind.
There’s magic in creativity. You just have to find it and let it shine
