Hi Tyra, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I grew up in Vermont where my mom ran a preschool for over 25 years, so from a young age I was surrounded by creativity, projects, and making things special for others. That’s really where my love for crafting experiences started. Later I became a competitive gymnast and eventually a professional aerial skier, which brought me to Park City when I joined the US National Team. I instantly fell in love with the community here, and after my skiing career I explored fitness for a while. But I realized what truly excites me is creating memorable experiences for people. That’s how Nectar Rose was born. Today, we focus on setting up Airbnb rentals, hotels, and vacation properties so that when you arrive, the celebration is already waiting for you. We also create custom gift baskets, après ski packages, and seasonal setups, sourcing from local vendors to make every detail feel thoughtful and unique. For me, it’s the perfect way to blend my creative background with my love for making people feel cared for.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been narrowing down exactly what I wanted Nectar Rose to focus on. There are so many directions in events, and I had to really carve out the lane that felt the most authentic and exciting to me. Another challenge has been building awareness for something that’s a little bit different than traditional event planning. People instantly understand a wedding planner, but explaining that we specialize in celebration setups for Airbnb rentals, hotels, and curated add-ons has taken some education. The bumps have been worth it though, because each step has helped refine the business into what it is today.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What I really love about Nectar Rose is the design side of it. I get so much joy out of putting together a theme that feels fun but also elevated—something that looks way beyond what the average person could just grab and set up themselves. I’m really focused on the custom touches that make each celebration unique and feel high-quality. For me, it’s luxury service and products, but done in a way that’s efficient and seamless so my clients don’t have to stress. I think that’s what sets us apart. We’re not just dropping off decorations, we’re creating a whole experience that people get to walk into and enjoy.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
One app I’ve been loving is Structured. It helps me time block my days and keep everything organized in one place. It syncs with my Apple calendar, lets me check off my to-do list, and even break bigger projects down into smaller subtasks, which I love because I can be as detailed as I want. It makes it easy to move things around when life shifts, but still keep everything on track. And honestly, taking care of my health and wellness is just as important for me. When I make time for workouts and feeling good physically, it definitely shows up in how I show up in my business.
