Hi Kristy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have always loved animals, especially dogs have had a few dogs throughout my life, but had them throughout their entire lives had one of my chocolate labs from eight weeks old till just passed 17 then got a brother Sister pair and at about seven years old my female got diagnosed with diabetes. Didn’t even know that that was a thing she’s insulin independent twice a day so that’s my passion is taking care and loving senior and medical dependent dogs.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Getting the brand out there getting Hawkes Haven out so people understand that we will take amazing care of their fur babies. And the ultimate goal is all the money raised goes into an account so eventually to open a sanctuary for elderly, disabled, and long term shelter dogs.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I have worked for 23 years in the forensic field as a medicolegal death investigator but my passion has always and will always be dogs. I love training them, obedience and hunt training. I love all furbabies and making sure that they have a great life is the most important thing to me.

What matters most to you? Why?
Just knowing that fur babies are happy and they’re taking care of them that they have a good home. That’s what makes me happy and other loved unconditionally. Because they matter just as much as people do in my opinion.
