Today we’d like to introduce you to Sheridan St. Claire.
Hi Sheridan , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started Symmetry Pilates when I was just 23, but it didn’t begin as a business plan. It began as a form of healing. I was living with two rotator cuff injuries, chronic lower-back pain, and a nervous system that was constantly on edge. My hormones were out of balance, my stress was through the roof, and I genuinely didn’t think I’d ever feel at home in my body again.
Then I found Reformer Pilates and everything changed. For the first time, movement became medicine. It wasn’t about pushing harder or chasing exhaustion; it was about re-educating my body and retraining my mind to work together. I started sleeping through the night again, my pain began to fade, and I discovered a calm I didn’t know I was missing.
When I opened Symmetry in St. George, my goal was simple: to bring that same transformation to others. I wanted to create a space that felt elevated and restorative, more like stepping into a spa or private wellness club than a traditional fitness studio. From the scent and sound to the calm energy of the space, every detail was designed to make people feel grounded, seen, and cared for.
Over the past five years, that vision has evolved into the Symmetry Method™, a science-backed approach that blends Pilates, somatic breathwork, strength, and nervous-system education. Today, Symmetry has grown beyond a studio, it’s expanded into a global app, an activewear line, and a community redefining what modern wellness looks like. From teaching professional athletes to clients rebuilding strength after injury, we teach that alignment isn’t just physical, it’s mental, emotional, and neurological.
What began as my journey to heal has become my life’s work, helping others feel stronger and more connected in their daily life.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road, but it’s been a meaningful one. I opened Symmetry as a young female founder in a smaller market where Reformer Pilates was still new. With a background in exercise science, I had to learn how to grow and scale a business, which was something I was unfamiliar with. I had to show people that Pilates isn’t a trend, it’s a lifelong practice that builds strength, balance, and longevity.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’ve always believed that growth never stops. Even after we reach a milestone at Symmetry, my mind is already on what’s next, how we can refine, elevate, and evolve. I’m constantly finding ways to improve the client experience, strengthen our brand, and raise the standard for what true Pilates can be.
That same mindset carries into my teaching. I’m known for pushing clients to reach a version of themselves they didn’t know was possible. My goal is always to challenge their comfort zones and expand what strength and confidence can look like.
What were you like growing up?
I had a fun childhood and spent a lot of time in my own little world of ideas. I loved fashion, editing videos, and traveling. Really anything creative that let me dream and explore new things. I was always writing mini books or planning my next video, and I think that creative side still shows up in how I approach life and work today.
