Today we’d like to introduce you to Matthew Gluckman.
Hi Matthew, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My background is in sports, and I hold a BS in Psychology. During college, I interned at a physical therapy office and had an “aha” moment — realizing we spend so much time reacting to problems instead of preventing them. I wanted to be on the proactive side of health.
After earning my Personal Training certification, I began working with busy executives in Boston’s financial district. It was there I saw firsthand how a leader’s personal health and performance ripple through their company culture and employee engagement.
That experience shaped my mission: to make wellness simple, actionable, and scalable — not just for individuals, but for entire organizations. Today, through Think WorkWell, I’m integrating 1-on-1 coaching principles into corporate environments to create healthier, higher-performing teams.
What’s good for the bee is what’s good for the hive. 🐝
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
First of all, Personal Training isn’t a smooth road. Most gyms treat you like en employee but pay you like a contractor, they typically take 50% of what you bring in. You’re expected to meet quotas or you’re fired. You don’t get any benefits, no health, no dental, no sick days, no paid vacation, no guarantee pay. It’s 100% commission, and to keep clients coming back you have to be good. To do that for 11 years full-time id say is the greatest accomplishment I’ve ever achieved. And I’m so grateful for every individual that has ever given me the opportunity to work with them. I would be nothing without my clients.
Also funny enough, when I was working at my first gym, I had just got my certification and I wasn’t in a good living situation, or healthy relationship, I was apparently extremely stressed, wasn’t eating properly and I ended up in the hospital for 2 weeks when I was ultimately diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. But it’s honestly a blessing these days because it’s shaped the man I have become today.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Think WorkWell?
Think WorkWell is built on a simple idea, when people thrive, companies do too.
Most corporate wellness programs are either too generic to create lasting impact or treated as optional perks that never gain real traction. We take a different approach.
Think WorkWell focuses on the unique needs of each company and the individuals who make it run. We deliver personalized wellness programs with practical tools and measurable results that make healthy habits part of everyday performance.
For employees, that means better energy, focus, and satisfaction.
For companies, it means stronger culture, better retention, and more resilient teams.
At Think WorkWell, we believe wellness isn’t a perk, it’s a performance strategy.
What’s good for the bee is what’s good for the hive.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
What surprises most people is that Think WorkWell wasn’t built from a business plan, it grew out of personal frustration. I saw how many wellness programs checked boxes but didn’t change lives. The brand was born from a decade of working with real people, testing what actually works, and realizing that culture change starts one human at a time.
