Rising Stars: Meet Christotopher Sorensen of Down Town Logan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christotopher Sorensen.

Hi Christotopher, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Why I Started Healthy Ascent

I was previously a part-owner of several FedEx routes. After selling my routes, I began looking for a new investment opportunity—something that could replace my income while making a positive impact. Initially, I explored food-based businesses, as I’ve always enjoyed food. At that time, I weighed 283 pounds, and that realization made me reflect on my own health and lifestyle.

During my search, I came across a business model focused on helping people become healthier and happier. That idea resonated deeply with me and became the foundation for Healthy Ascent.

At Healthy Ascent, we offer medically supervised weight loss programs using GLP-1 medications such as Semaglutide and Tirzepatide to help our clients achieve safe and sustainable results. However, I also recognized that weight loss often comes with side effects—like loose skin, stubborn fat areas, and other physical changes that can affect confidence.

To address those challenges, we’ve built a comprehensive wellness program that includes:

RF Sculpting to target cellulite and difficult fat areas.

Skin tightening treatments to maintain a firm, youthful appearance after weight loss.

A Red Light Therapy bed designed for comfort, featuring an open, zero-gravity chair layout.

Facials and skincare services to help you look and feel your best.

Pelvic floor strengthening to support bladder control, prostate health, and overall wellness.

When I realized I was about to become a grandparent, it motivated me even more. I didn’t want to be the grandparent who just sat on the couch while the grandkids played. I wanted to be active, engaged, and healthy.

Healthy Ascent isn’t just a business—it’s a mission to help myself and our community live healthier, happier, and more confident lives.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting this business has been far from a textbook smooth launch. Many things didn’t go as planned in the beginning. I initially partnered with marketing companies that promised rapid growth—one guaranteed 12–18 new clients per week but brought in only two over two months. I then tried another company that assured 290 new patients in 90 days or no payment. After signing, I discovered the results were “leads,” and most were not well-qualified.

It’s been a slower start than I had hoped, but progress is coming. As we’ve increased our own outreach through local radio and Facebook, we’ve started to see steady, organic growth.

I’ve personally invested everything into this vision—draining my retirement savings and putting my home on the line to keep the business moving forward. Despite the challenges, I believe deeply in what we’re building.

We’ve also experienced some employee turnover early on, but those positions have since been filled with a strong, dedicated team. Today, we have the right people in place—committed professionals who share the same goal: helping others reach their health and wellness aspirations.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’ve built a broad and diverse career over the years. I started working on farms as a kid—moving irrigation pipe, driving tractors, and fixing equipment. Those early experiences taught me the value of hard work and problem-solving.

At 17, I transitioned into construction, hanging drywall and taking on various building projects. In 2004, I decided to challenge myself in a completely new direction: sales. I joined Best Buy in the Home Entertainment department and quickly discovered that I enjoyed working with people and helping them find the right solutions.

Before long, I was offered a management position at a family-owned baby supply store. While I appreciated the opportunity, I soon realized it wasn’t the right fit and returned to construction. When work slowed down during the winter months, I made another pivot—this time into an industry I had once promised myself I’d avoid: production.

I joined Procter & Gamble, where I spent 12 years working in production, maintenance, electrical maintenance, and fire protection. That experience gave me a deep understanding of operations, leadership, and reliability in large-scale environments.

After leaving P&G, I invested in and managed multiple FedEx routes, which provided valuable business ownership and logistics experience. Now, I’ve taken everything I’ve learned—from the farm to corporate management—and applied it to my newest venture: building and growing Healthy Ascent, a business focused on helping others achieve health, confidence, and long-term happiness.

What are your plans for the future?
My plans are to get this business up and running smooth then investing in each one of my children future one at a time.
