Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Shearer.
Hi Lisa, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
A life of design. I started my career as a graphic designer, but spending my childhood watching my father draft and build homes gave me an early understanding of house structures and passion for drawing and organizing space layouts. “I was born to do this work,”. After my father passed away it inspired me to build a home for my mother on our property which sparked the love of the process and wanting more. This gave me the courage to launch my own company Shearer Designs in 2018.
Unlocking the potential. My role as a designer is to help homeowners make the best decisions based on construction, quality and cost. “I love meeting people, visualizing everything from beginning to end and working through the process,” she says. I draw on my project management skills to navigate between the technical and design sides of every project.
The most rewarding part after all the hard work and challenges you face along the way is to see the final product come to life and the joy in the clients eyes when they get to live in these beautiful, functional spaces.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s always a struggle on any project no matter how big or small to find the right balance for my clients to give the best design concepts and keeping within their set budgets. I try to put their budget in line of the features I want to prioritize and the places where I can save them money to stay within budget. Often less expensive options are just as beautiful and durable. I always say “Be willing to have an open mind, and Be willing to allow for changes to happen along the way.” This is where my best work comes to life.

We start with an initial consultation that can lead to a design plan for your space or take it to the next level and develop your space using our team of professional contractors and sub contractors and then complete your project with our stylish decorating team. I help clients make the best decision based on construction, quality, cost and design.
What sets us apart from others is we offer the full package from Design, Develop and Decorating. We are small firm that can offer a one on one personalized service for each client from start to finish. This allows us to still produce quality work but in a affordable budget.

We had an amazing experience with Lisa from start to finish! We live in Florida and had a condo in Deer Valley which was very dated and worn. We met with her when we were out for vacation–we met on a Monday and by the end of the week she had a plan for a complete gut, an itemized estimate and even samples of materials to be used. She managed the entire project–planning the design, hiring the contractors even working with our HOA. She was very knowledgeable, honest, current on design trends, receptive to our input and extremely easy to work with. In the end she produced a beautiful product.
