Conversations with Oscar Delgado

Today we’d like to introduce you to Oscar Delgado.

Hi Oscar, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Ivan Solow:
I always wanted to be a WWE superstar, that was the dream growing up. When that didn’t pan out, I started leaning into my creative side. I’ve always felt like creativity was a part of me. It started with writing poems, then those poems turned into bars, and over time, music became the way I expressed who I am.

My mission is to create. I believe every person is born with a God-given purpose, and it’s our duty to unravel it and bring it to life. For me, that purpose is music, blending Hip Hop, Latin, and Reggaeton influences to tell real stories that reflect my experiences and culture.

I make music that speaks to growth, passion, transformation, and just having a good time. Every project I release is a piece of that journey, a reflection of where I’ve been, what I’ve learned, and how I’m evolving through it all.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Being creative hasn’t always been a smooth road. When I’m in the zone, time disappears, it’s a beautiful and freeing experience. But the hardest part is that society doesn’t always see the value in that kind of work. One of the biggest struggles has been knowing what I was meant to do, yet feeling pressure from the world to “earn money” in ways that didn’t align with my purpose.

There were times I found myself stuck in places I never wanted to be, where my spirit felt dead, far from the freedom I experienced when creating. That tension, between what I was meant to do and what the world expected, has been one of the hardest parts of the journey. But it also taught me resilience and reinforced that my art is where I feel most alive and most myself.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a music artist and creator, blending Hip Hop, Latin, and Reggaeton to tell stories that are rooted in my culture and personal experiences. I specialize in concept-driven albums, each project is designed to represent a chapter of transformation, growth, and self-discovery.

I don’t really think anything sets me apart, but if there is, it’s the fact that I am unapologetically me. I don’t care about trends or fitting in, I make music the way I feel it, true to my vision. What I’m most proud of is building my career independently, developing every part of my craft from writing and recording to branding and vision, without compromising my identity

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I like best about the city is how chill it feels, there’s a laid-back vibe that makes it easy to focus and create. What I like least is that almost nothing is open after 2 AM, which is tough for night owls like me who thrive late at night especially when you’re hungry.
