Rising Stars: Meet Carson Hardman of Bluffdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carson Hardman.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Xcite MMA really started from a simple idea. I just wanted to build a place where people could train hard, feel supported, and be part of something real. When we first opened, it was small. We didn’t have all the equipment or the big setup we have now, but we had a lot of heart and a clear purpose: to help people grow through martial arts.

Over time, we started adding more programs, not just for fighters, but for families, kids, and beginners who just wanted to get stronger and more confident. That’s when we created things like our Level Up system and Power Hour program, which lets parents and kids train at the same time while learning the same skills.

It’s been cool to watch the gym evolve into such a strong community. People bring their friends, their families — it’s really turned into more of a family environment than just a gym. Now being in Bluffdale, we’ve got the chance to keep growing that, give back to the community, and keep building something people are proud to be part of.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. We’ve had plenty of ups and downs. Starting small, figuring things out as we went, dealing with COVID, and even having to move when our old building got torn down. There were times it felt like we were starting over completely.

But honestly, those challenges ended up shaping who we are as a gym. Our team and members really stepped up, and it reminded us why we do this, because of the people and the community behind it. Every obstacle just made us stronger and more connected.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Xcite MMA, we help people unlock their full potential — physically, mentally, and emotionally. We’re not just teaching punches and kicks; we’re building confidence, discipline, and real-life strength that carries far beyond the gym.

We specialize in structured, goal-driven programs for all ages — from kids learning focus and respect, to adults chasing fitness or competition goals. Our Level Up progression system gives members clear milestones so they can actually see their growth. And our Power Hour program — where parents and kids train at the same time, learning the same lessons — has become something really special. It’s helped families connect and grow together in a way that’s hard to find anywhere else.

What sets us apart is our culture. Xcite isn’t just a gym — it’s a family. Everyone who walks in is supported, pushed, and celebrated. You feel the energy, the drive, and the community the second you step on the mats.

What I’m most proud of is seeing people transform — watching someone who started out unsure of themselves grow into a confident leader. That’s what keeps me going every single day.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I’d just say that Xcite MMA is more than a gym. It’s a place where people come to push their limits, find confidence, and be part of something bigger than themselves. Whether someone wants to compete, get in shape, or just feel stronger in life, they’ll find a community here that has their back.

We’re really proud of what we’ve built, but even more excited about where we’re headed — continuing to grow, give back, and make a positive impact in our Salt Lake and Utah County community.
