Conversations with Pastor Alex (P-Thizzle) Segura

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pastor Alex (P-Thizzle) Segura.

Hi Pastor Alex (P-Thizzle), please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Pastor Alex “P-Thizzle” Segura – Testimony & Bio

My name is Alex (P-Thizzle) Segura. I was born in 1983 and raised in West Valley City, Utah. Growing up, I loved martial arts and was heavily inspired by Michael Jackson. In 1990, at just seven years old, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes — a challenge that would shape much of my life.

Even though we didn’t have much, my mom worked hard to provide for me, my brother Nick, and my sister Aimee. She sacrificed a lot to make sure we had what we needed — including my medical care.

In 1997, I moved to Northern California to live with my father, Alex B. Segura (RIP). At that time, I had already been caught up in the Blood gang lifestyle back in Utah. When I moved to the Menlo Park / East Palo Alto area, that mentality only grew stronger. Life became about hustling and surviving, and I found myself in and out of trouble, putting my dad through a lot. I bounced back and forth between California and Utah for a while.

In 2000, I moved to St. George, Utah to live with my older brother Nick, but the trouble didn’t stop there. My mindset and lifestyle didn’t fit the area, and I faced a lot of challenges. Then in 2001, I moved back home to West Valley City. By the grace of God, I graduated high school — but the “fun” wasn’t over.

That same year, in August 2001, I met Josette, who is now my wife of 24 years. Together we have a son, Nate, who was born in 2005 and is now 20 years old.

From 2003 to today, I’ve been heavily involved in the hip hop scene — locally and nationally. I’ve worked with Sick Lake Records, Hogg Boss, Baby Blue Records, Mac Dezzo, 3rd Eye Muzic, The Coalition, Savvy Yola, Coleone, and more. I’ve also collaborated with artists across the country including Alucard, Taz Locc (MCR), Panic, Don Cisco (Latino Velvet), Baby Bash (Hogg Bosses album), Smokey Da Bandit, and even members of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony (on Smokey Da Bandit’s album).

In 2007, I signed a distribution deal with Keith Clizark under Universal Music Group, through Team Mashin Records.
In 2015, my brother in Christ Big Mic-E and I launched Custom Made Entertainment, a label that has grown through its share of ups and downs.

Then in 2023, everything changed. After years of battling anger, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and feeling no joy or purpose, I hit a breaking point. I even thought about ending it all — but that’s when I made the decision to fully surrender my life to God, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Since then, God has transformed everything. He freed me from addiction, anxiety, and depression. He restored my joy, gave me purpose, and filled my life with peace.

Today, Custom Made Entertainment is no longer just a record label — it’s a musical ministry. In 2025, I released “Saved” and “Higher” — songs that glorify what Jesus has done in my life.

Now, I serve as an Associate Pastor at The Juniper Tree Church in Clearfield, Utah, where I have the honor of being equipped to go out and win souls for the Kingdom of God.

If you’re in the area, I invite you to join us for Sunday morning service at 10 AM and come say hi.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No it has not been a smooth road, but God is good all of the time.

Philippians 4:6-7

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
