Life & Work with Samantha Turnbow of Spanish Fork Main Street

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Turnbow.

Samantha, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey into healing didn’t begin as a business idea. It began at a time when my life felt like it was breaking apart in every direction.
In 2018, I was at the tail end of nearly twenty surgeries — heart surgery, three back surgeries, multiple oral surgeries to remove tumors from the bone in my mouth, abdominal surgeries to remove unusual growths, and the removal of the organs the body can live without. I had been working as a registered nurse, and my health was declining rapidly. I had been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. There were days I couldn’t understand language, days where speech wouldn’t form, and many days when I couldn’t get out of bed. My thinking was slipping away from me, and I was no longer able to practice nursing.
Through all of this, I came to realize that western medicine alone wasn’t working — in many ways, it was making things worse. I found myself on so many medications that I needed more medications just to manage the side effects of the first ones. Something in me whispered, there has to be another way.
Energy had always been woven into my life, even before nursing or massage therapy or EMT training. As a child, I would read a room, could communicate with loved ones who had passed, and knew things before they happened. When everything in my physical world was unraveling, I leaned back into that truth. I began with a crystal healer course and discovered the power of grids. During the class, I activated a grid to manifest the funds for a life mastery program — and moments later, the opportunity arrived. That was the opening. From that point on, everything started to shift. I also began to wear crystals as my medicine, and it was working.
I continued my training and became a Reiki Master Teacher. I gave myself Reiki daily and allowed it to move through me. I completed sound healing training, became a certified breathwork facilitator, and deepened into the spiritual gifts I was born with — mediumship, intuition, and channeling.
I also learned one of the most powerful truths of my life:
Everything is created energetically or spiritually first — and then it manifests physically.
So I became very intentional with what I spoke, what words I used, what I claimed, and what I chose.
I worked on healing every layer of myself:

• childhood wounds

• inner child trauma

• the trauma of an abusive marriage

• the trauma of multiple assaults

• programming and patterns that no longer served me

• deep grief from immense loss

• a lifetime of living in a victim mindset

I chose to remember my free will.
I chose gratitude.

I chose joy, even on the difficult days.

I chose to love my body exactly where it was.

I chose to only put out love to the universe.
And slowly, everything changed.
My body responded. Medications began dropping away one by one. My energy shifted. My mind cleared. And then came the miracles. Many miracles. Some small, 3 that were life changing. One in Egypt, one in Mount Shasta, and one in my own little shop. Two are documented in medical imaging. The third left a surgeon stunned when the imaged growth simply… wasn’t there anymore.
I am still healing.
Some conditions — like Multiple Sclerosis — took years to form and naturally take longer to unravel. They continue to teach me. They remind me to slow down, to choose gratitude and love again and again, and to honor the wisdom of my body. I trust the process, even when it moves slowly.
About five years ago, I felt called to share not only my story, but the tools that helped me heal. I started with crystals in a warehouse with no regular hours, hosting my first sound bath gatherings with a small set of bowls and a drum. As I shared my story, I watched people soften — hope returning to the hopeless, strength to the weary, comfort to the grieving, healing to the sick, and gratitude replacing negativity. There was so much love. So much light.
I knew a place like Sammi’s Spot needed to exist.
I liquidated what I could, took a loan out on my home, and opened a full time healing center. I hired employees and began teaching Reiki, crystal healer courses, and drum-making workshops, while facilitating weekly sound healing meditations. I opened myself to offering medium work and created a community space where anyone could come for peace, healing, and connection.
Today, I also have a beautiful team who helps support the physical and day-to-day operations of the shop. They love the crystals and have also been trained how to teach about them. Their dedication allows me to focus my energy on what I am called to do — teaching, sessions, retreats, ceremonies, and the spiritual and intuitive work that moved me onto this path in the first place. We hold this space together, as a collective effort of heart, intention, and love.
I am beyond honored to walk beside people on their healing journeys. I don’t teach from theory — I teach from lived experience, from miracles witnessed firsthand, and from the understanding that every soul holds the power to heal.
This is how I got here:
Through devotion, courage, spiritual truth, fierce love, and the willingness to become who I was always meant to be.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all easy. My path has included some of the most challenging seasons of my life.

I was building this business while healing from years of surgeries, navigating chronic illness, and unraveling deep layers of trauma. There were moments when I was trying to rebuild my health, my confidence, and my entire sense of identity all at once. Healing isn’t linear, and neither is entrepreneurship.

There have also been personal challenges along the way that required emotional strength, boundaries, and grace — times when life outside the business felt overwhelming, and I had to learn how to take care of myself while still showing up for others in a grounded, intentional way. Balancing personal healing with the responsibility of holding space for my community has been one of my greatest teachers.

The business side has had its obstacles too. The building where my shop is located has brought its own complexities — from uncertainty around long-term occupancy to difficulties understanding who actually owns or controls certain parts of the space. For years, I’ve navigated shifting information, unclear agreements, and repeated changes that made it hard to feel secure in a place where I’ve invested my heart, my time, and significant financial resources. Operating a healing center should feel stable and grounding, yet at times the logistics of the building made everything feel uncertain.

There were financial risks, seasons of expansion followed by seasons of struggle, and moments where I had to trust that the path was rearranging itself even when everything felt shaky.

Every obstacle became a teacher.
Each challenge strengthened my resilience, refined my purpose, and deepened my compassion. I don’t believe I would be the practitioner I am today without having walked through these experiences.

They taught me how to hold space for others because I learned — firsthand — what it means to walk through uncertainty, transform pain, and rise with intention.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My work is multidimensional — it lives at the intersection of energy healing, intuition, sound, spirituality, and deep emotional transformation. I am a Reiki Master Teacher, a sound healer, a breathwork facilitator, a crystal healer, a medium, and an intuitive channel. I blend all of these modalities into the way I serve, creating experiences that help people reconnect with their bodies, their souls, and their innate ability to heal.

At Sammi’s Spot, my healing center and crystal sanctuary, I offer more than crystals and jewelry. I offer private sessions, sound baths, intuitive readings, energy work, house and land clearings, crystal healer courses, Reiki trainings and attunements, breathwork journeys, and online sessions and ceremonies. I work with clients not only locally, but all over the world through distant healing, virtual sessions, and online offerings. My work is a blend of grounded healing, spiritual connection, energetic clearing, and empowerment.

I also lead transformational retreats in some of the most energetically powerful places in the world — Costa Rica, Mount Shasta, Sedona — as well as select locations throughout Utah. These retreats weave sound healing, breathwork, ceremony, mediumship, Reiki, crystal gridding, and deep inner work into immersive experiences that invite people to reconnect with themselves and transform their lives.

I specialize in helping people who feel lost, stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected. People come to me during some of the hardest moments of their lives — illness, grief, trauma, transition, awakening — and together, we create a space where they feel safe, seen, understood, and supported. Because I have walked through my own fires, I meet people from a place of compassion, truth, and embodied experience.

One of the things I’m most proud of is that everything I teach, I have lived. I don’t speak from theory — I speak from healing twenty surgeries, navigating chronic illness, moving through trauma, rebuilding my life, and choosing love over and over again. My journey is woven into the medicine I carry.

What sets me apart is the way I blend traditional training with spiritual gifts. My background as a nurse, EMT, and massage therapist gives me a grounded understanding of the human body, while my mediumship, intuition, and channeling allow me to see what others may miss — the energetic, emotional, and spiritual layers that shape someone’s experience.

My clients often say that being in my presence feels like being held in a frequency of safety, love, and non-judgment. I create spaces where people feel seen beyond their pain and remembered beyond their symptoms. Whether I’m leading a sound bath, teaching Reiki, facilitating breathwork, channeling messages, or guiding a retreat in Costa Rica, Sedona, Mount Shasta, here in Utah, or connecting through an online session with someone across the world, my intention is always the same:
to help people come home to themselves, and to remind them of the power they already carry.

I am proud of the community that has formed around this work — people who show up for healing, for growth, for love, and for each other. And I’m proud that I have created a space where people can experience transformation, connection, and true inner peace.

My work continues to evolve, and the purpose remains the same:
to assist people in remembering who they are, reclaiming their light, and becoming the healer of their own life.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
If there is one thing I would share, it’s that healing is always possible. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been struggling, how deep the pain runs, or how many times you’ve had to start over — your body, your spirit, and your soul are never beyond renewal. You are far more powerful than you’ve been led to believe.

You don’t have to walk your healing journey alone. There is a community here, a space of love, safety, and acceptance waiting for you. And no matter where you are in your process, you are worthy of healing, joy, and peace right now.
